A healthcare insurance company with more than two million small business and government members in Iowa and South Dakota faced increased competition for top talent in Des Moines, home to many other Fortune 500 firms. They needed to be able to attract and retain younger, agile IT talent, as well as use those resources to adopt more modern processes.
The engagement started with an Agile workshop provided by two MATRIX coaches from Minneapolis as part of the sales cycle. From there, MATRIX delivered Discovery and Training for leaders and middle managers, as well as coaching within the PMO to assist in building an Agile Center of Excellence (COE). The initial engagement was extended from 6 to 17 months to include hands-on coaching for a high-priority product launch.
Overall, MATRIX helped move the needle on several key product lines. A post-engagement customer satisfaction survey showed 85% of the respondents said MATRIX met or exceeded expectations. Throughout the project, MATRIX maintained a strong relationship with the PMO, IT, and Business. Excellent momentum was maintained in helping them set up key aspects of agility. On-site time with the lead coach strengthened the practice learnings.
