Term: 3 months
Day-to-Day Responsibilities:
- Full-service management of the VMWare environment.
- Full-service management of the storage platforms (public and private cloud).
- Flexible work schedule (will require non-normal working hours for certain migration and support activities).
- Lifecycle management of Standard Operating Procedures and Knowledge Base.
- Collaboration with other teams ensuring a smooth transfer of tickets as appropriate.
- Lead and drive continuous improvement opportunities with respect to stabilizing, standardizing, consolidating, and transforming our teams’ services to our internal customers.
- Build strong internal customer relationships to ensure we are aligned to customer and business needs while prioritizing key initiatives.
- Maintain a payment card industry complaint infrastructure environment.
- Support annual internal and external audits and maintain necessary change management and documentation.
- Maintain awareness of changing IT trends and regulations which might impact the company.
- Develop strategies that will mitigate any incoming risks and/or take advantage of any future benefits.
- Work within established configuration and change management policies ensuring awareness, approval and success of changes made to the areas of responsibility.
- Provides guidance and direction on problems, solutions, system parameters and modifications.
- Conducts operational walkthroughs to ensure completeness, accuracy, and efficiency of systems, programs, or solutions to business problems.
- Proposes changes in operations and/or established systems to enhance controls or improve efficiencies through better use of technology.
- Responsible for identifying resource needs and leveraging staff augmentation to obtain the skill sets needed to scale based on forecasted workloads.
- Ability to work with a team of peers to ensure project and directional alignment within the infrastructure department.
Is this a good fit? (Requirements):
- Bachelor’s Degree.
- 10+ years of overall work experience.
- 5+ years relevant professional IT experience.
- Direct experience with VMWare (VCF, vRNI, VRealize, vSAN).
- Creation & management of operational knowledge base articles.
- Demonstrated expertise with Word, Excel, and other MS Office suite applications.
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to research and resolve issues.
- Excellent time management skills and ability to multi-task and track multiple projects concurrently.
- Excellent project management skills and ability to keep projects on target and within budget.
- Proficient knowledge in computer hardware and software systems and remote support.
- Excellent understanding of intra-department functions and operations.
- Ability to perform repeated bending, standing, and reaching.
- Ability to lift to 40 pounds.
