TIBCO Middleware Engineer - REMOTE

This nationwide insurance industry leader has an immediate 6+ month contract-to-hire opportunity for a TIBCO Middleware Engineer.  Can work 100% remotely from anywhere in the United States but must be able to travel to the corporate office on an as-needed basis for possibly a week at times during the contract to hire period. All travel must be pre-approved and travel, hotel, and meals will be reimbursed.

The corporate enterprise integration platform is built with TIBCO (BusinessWorks (5.X & 6.X), EMS, Admin, TEA), Java, SQL, Apache, general web services integration practices, and mainframe integrations.

Requirements:

•    College degree in computer science or other technical field required or equivalent work experience.
•    2-4+ years experience as a Middleware Engineer utilizing TIBCO (BusinessWorks (5.X & 6.X), EMS, Admin, TEA).
•    Advanced knowledge of software development lifecycle and project lifecycle principles.
•    Advanced knowledge of middleware platform(s), cloud architecture, and/or advanced knowledge of scripting tools and protocols.
•    2-4 years of experience in analysis, developing and writing code. 
•    Development lifecycle projects involving middleware/integrations.
•    Effective communication in a professional manner to business partners, and external resources/vendors. 
•    Prefer knowledge and experience with Java, SQL, Apache, general web services integration practices, and/or mainframe integrations.

This mid-level position requires someone that is capable of operating autonomously on many development and maintenance activities.  Responsibilities include:

•    Assisting with development by gathering information, performing analysis, and eliciting the details of user requirements in discussions with users. 
•    Completing design, documentation, development, testing and debugging tasks working within a team.
•    Supporting integration solutions by fixing problems, making enhancements, and collaborating with other support areas.
•    Working with others, providing feedback and guidance to less experienced staff.
•    Promoting integration best practices, standards, principles, and patterns.
•    Assisting with compliance-related activities, including research and resolution.
•    Maintaining middleware platform, including upgrade, enhancements, and patches. 
•    Diagnosing and resolving system problems.
•    Ensuring integration performance, reliability, and quality. 
•    Working closely with DevOps to drive system stability through CI/CD implementations. 
•    Driving innovation through research of new technology, existing technology, and process improvement, asking ‘how can we do it better'.
•    Working on POCs for help determining best path forward with Growth and Run initiatives.
•    Helping plan and execute the enterprise service portfolio management strategy. 
•    Working across departmental lines to improve HM development capabilities. 
•    Working cross-functionally to assist with problem solving and project plan activities.
