Position: SSIS ETL Developer
Location: Minneapolis, MN, 55415
Term: 12 months

Day-to-Day Responsibilities:

  • Lead complex technology initiatives including those that are companywide with broad impact.
  • Act as a key participant in developing standards and companywide best practices for engineering complex and large scale technology solutions for technology engineering disciplines.
  • Design, code, test, debug, and document for projects and programs.
  • Review and analyze complex, large-scale technology solutions for tactical and strategic business objectives, enterprise technological environment, and technical challenges that require in-depth evaluation of multiple factors, including intangibles or unprecedented technical factors.
  • Make decisions in developing standard and companywide best practices for engineering and technology solutions requiring understanding of industry best practices and new technologies, influencing and leading technology team to meet deliverables and drive new initiatives.
  • Collaborate and consult with key technical experts, senior technology team, and external industry groups to resolve complex technical issues and achieve goals.
  • Lead projects, teams, or serve as a peer mentor.
  • 5+ years of Software Engineering experience, or equivalent demonstrated through one or a combination of the following: work experience, training, military experience, or education.
  • Provides the highest technical expertise for the planning, analysis, design, implementation, maintenance, and control of the organization's data.
  • Handles and leads the most complex or critical data/ database management initiatives that typically involve multiple disciplines and multiple business groups, including responsibility for database architecture, design, integration, and/or data modeling.
  • As the recognized technical expert, consults extensively with multiple client groups to provide strategic solutions, influencing long-range internal and enterprise-level data/ database architecture and management strategies.
  • Serves as a consultant on technological advancements.


Is this a good fit? (Requirements):

  • Strong SSIS ETL Engineer capable of leading team meetings and who needs minimal direction.
  • 5+ years of SSIS, 7+ years of engineering.
  • With recent dedicated reports development, DBA, or BI experience likely lack the required technical level of SSIS proficiency.
  • Develop 5 hours a day and will be on the phone 3 hours a day.
  • Should understand how to unit test their product. Able to use Visual Studio to document.
  • Ideally will have worked in financial services, helps them to be aware of the red tape and security requirements.
  • Members of the team are expected to be consultants hired to support the business and think through situations. Should be outcome over output focused, busy doesn't mean productive.
  • Must be open to the following work environment:
  • 3 days in the office
  • Ok with open seating arrangement.
  • Able to be in video meetings for a team dispersed coast to coast
  • Planned to be furloughed for last 3 weeks of the year.
  • Normal office hours
  • Remote office must be a closed environment
  • Bachelor’s or Master's in computer science or related field or equivalent work experience
  • 7+ years of experience as a senior developer on complex projects and leading other developers.
  • 7+ years database design and development experience.
  • 5+ years of experience with SQL Server 2016 (or newer) and SSIS
  • 2+ years of experience working with large scale SQL implementations
  • Experience designing, developing, and maintaining complex stored procedures, functions, and views using T-SQL
  • Experience designing, developing, and maintaining ETL processes using SSIS
  • Experience documenting solutions
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Detail-oriented, with attention to quality
  • Self-motivated and able to complete tasks with minimal supervision
  • Experience with Autosys
  • Experience working in Agile Scrum Projects
  • Experience developing Unit Testing Automation solutions
  • Experience working with team members in different locations
  • Experience interacting with the business
  • Ability to be in the office as required per Wells Fargo policy
  • Ability to be on camera during meetings
  • Strong analytical skills with high attention to detail and accuracy
  • Experience developing Proof of Concept designs to develop Product options
  • Experience with source control using TFS GIT.

Nice to have:

  • Experience creating conceptual, logical, and physical database designs
  • Preference given to candidates with extensive knowledge and experience with performance monitoring, database and SQL tuning
  • Experience ConnectDirect/NDM are pluses
  • Kingsway experience is a plus
  • Azure experience including SQL, Synapse, Data Lake, Data Storage
