MATRIX has a wonderful opportunity with a highly sought after client in Houston, TX who is a leader in the oil and gas industry. The ideal candidate will have working knowledge in Data Center with experience in Cisco ACI, SDWAN (Viptela), Cisco ISE, Cisco Wireless, Cisco Switches, Routers, FWs, Cisco DNA Center, Azure Virtual Networking, Cisco ASA Security with site-to-site VPN(IPSec) and SCADA networks.

The responsibilities of the Senior Technical Analyst- Network Engineer will include:
 

1. Assist Network Team with implementation of network architectures utilizing LAN, WAN wireless security protocols. Ensure efficient and optimum network performance. Investigate and correct system-related problems; install new network hardware, software, and operating systems; provide expert problem determination for complex problems; consult with the user community on system design options; and work with other areas of IT Services to provide maximum system availability. Manage multisite Cisco networks. Participate in On-Call Rotation.

2. Analyze network and system faults, troubleshoot, and perform diagnostics on network operating systems and hardware to isolate and resolve communication issues.

    • Document and maintain understandable network troubleshooting procedures to assist the support capabilities to various IT units including windows, help desk, NOC etc.
    • Knowledge of Security environments, Quality of Service, VPN, IDS, Cisco security products and other security techniques.

3. Participate in change management process including the use of Change Requests and completion of problem tickets.

4. Research emerging technologies to determine if they can be used to increase user productivity and/or provide client with competitive advantage.  Determine long-term viability of both technologies and companies.  Integrate technologies into existing infrastructure with minimal disruption. 

5. Participate in the planning process for implementing new hardware and software.  Create plans, provide estimated target dates, and track project progress.

6. Instruct support personnel on software and hardware operation.  Prepare procedures and documentation as required.  Collaborate with departmental personnel in cross-training to eliminate key person dependencies.
