JOB DESCRIPTION

  • The team is aligned to Corporate & Investment Banking Execution Services to enhance the ownership, organizational structure, standardization, and oversight of project management functions.
  • The CIB Portfolio Delivery is a team of seasoned project professionals who are aligned to support CIB through Portfolio Management, Program Delivery, and Project Management.
  • Through governance and prioritization, the team enables project investment decisions to be aligned to business goals and strategic priorities.
  • Project Delivery allows us to successfully execute against these priorities by advocating for our business partners while effectively collaborating with partners in technology, risk,finance, legal, operations and product.
  • The Project Manager is accountable for managing project(s) of medium-high complexity on behalf of the business that typically include multiple systems, processes, or functional areas.
  • Successfully informs and influences sponsors and key stakeholders and senior leadership to promote success of the project performance, frequently through times of ambiguity and significant, long-term obstacle management.
  • Consults with peers, stakeholders, and/or program/project leads in times of strategically complex or critical ambiguity and adapts planning, communications, and engagements.
  • Ensures full understanding of project impacts then translates that into comprehensive engagement strategies.
  • Communicates frequently to the project team, sponsor, portfolio leader, and stakeholders while maintaining cooperative, motivated, and successful workstreams.
  • Performs all usual duties of a Project Manager in accordance with policy, methodology and artifact creation.
    • This includes requirements identification; resource requirements; project dependencies, planning and progression; financial management; status reporting; prolific and effective communications; ongoing risk assessment and adaptation at the project level; and appropriate escalation strategies and implementations.
  • Incorporates regular and appropriate consultation with steering committees, executive leadership, sponsors, business, and other stakeholders to validate project viability, project trajectory and project performance feedback. Ensures that risk controls are met.
  • This candidate will report to the Project Management Manager, while also being accountable to the Program Manager, and will be responsible for managing all activities and people associated with the delivery of project(s) within the CIB Regulatory Portfolio.
  • The role typically manages a family or series of workstreams under one or more projects associated with a specific business strategy to obtain benefits and controls. The ideal candidate will have a strong track record of project management, successfully delivering complex projects, and have knowledge in capital markets & institutional brokerage.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

Proven ability to:

  • Lead cross-functional project teams, managing all life-cycle activities associated with high visibility projects that are long-term, across one or more business areas and carry a substantial impact to the relevant businesses to which they are accountable.
  • Execute end to-end project management using Enterprise Change Management standards, demonstrating ownership of the entire process from beginning to end.
  • Establish and manage matrixed project teams across the organization, including Technology, Operations, Legal, Compliance, Finance, and other impacted partners.
  • Drive delivery of all project deliverables including business cases, requirements, project planning, testing, implementation, and closing.
  • Create and deliver presentations to executive and senior management on project progress, goals and plans, including progress reports.
  • Recognize and manage areas of change. Document internal & external impacts, and a plan for implementation & readiness
  • Identify, analyze, and manage risks, issues and interdependencies.
  • Manage budgets/forecasting, schedules, and staffing to ensure optimal business results.

DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • External consulting experience (i.e. Big 4, etc.)
  • Experience leading regulatory/ compliance related projects
  • Knowledge of and familiarity with capital markets & institutional brokerage
  • Ability to work with and empower others collaboratively for team success
  • Proven track record of leading medium-to-large, complex, projects on time and on budget utilizing highly disciplined project management and organization skills
  • Ability to synthesize information to identify key risks, customer impact, financial implications, delays that could impact delivery, and issues that pose material risk to the project or business
  • Reliable, results driven individual capable of completing tasks with minimal direction and oversight required
  • Ability to understand complex problems, identify solutions and develop clear options and recommendations
  • Experience in formal project methodology; specifically in the creation of business cases, project initiation, development of comprehensive business requirements, identification of project interdependencies, general oversight of the development life cycle and testing strategies and the planning for successful delivery
  • Experience presenting to executive and senior management with strong oral and written presentation skills
  • Excellent leadership, relationship building skills.
