Senior IT Systems Analyst
San Francisco, CA (Hybrid Remote)

Target Start Date: November 2022 (ASAP)

Role Overview:

We are looking for multiple Senior IT Systems Analyst’s to help support our premier financial services client’s Data Infrastructure Modernization project. The ideal candidates would have a strong banking background, and bonus if experienced in item processing and experience with FIS IBS suite of products.

This is a long-term consulting (potential contract to hire) opportunity with ABOVE MARKET compensation!

In this role, you will work with both IT teams and other internal organizations to gather requirements associated with multiple complex systems and applications. The Senior IT Systems Analyst identifies and communicates business objectives and information technology requirements as well as recommendations to assigned stakeholders. This position will be responsible for leveraging advanced analytical, research and problem-solving skills to define innovative technology solutions in cooperation with developers to meet business objectives.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • The Systems Analyst will work with Business to define and document the overall system flow of projects.
  • This will include a high degree of interaction with business and operations units to understand the functional needs of the users of the system as well as the various technology teams.
  • Elicit, analyze, validate, and manage technical requirements definition, flows and deliverables for projects. Perform this by working with business partners to understand work effort requirements and then translate into IT actionable tasks.
  • Working closely with the technology stake holders to deliver solution design documents and system requirements. Partner closely with technical teams supporting data movement, application development and testing.
  • Diligently support and lead where needed various activities between the teams to ensure the business and technical requirements and objectives are met. Ensure appropriate project documentation is compiled and proper review and approvals from respective teams as gathered and collated.
  • Contribute to the overall system(s) design.
  • Evaluate current processes and procedures to ensure relevance and accuracy.
  • Make recommendations for changes and keep documentation current.
  • Perform as the subject matter expert on the various corporate banking systems and processes assigned. Inclusive of this is gathering a deep understanding of the data within the systems and business processes supported by the system(s).
  • Build critical working relationships with the business and users’ communities through gathering a thorough understanding of the business models and processes employed.
  • Conduct full lifecycle analysis to include requirements, activities, and design.
  • Draw out, analyze, validate, and manage requirements, flows and deliverables for projects.
  • Act as a liaison among technical development, business users and vendors.
  • Contributing to overall system design.
  • Evaluate current processes and procedures to ensure relevance and accuracy.
  • Make recommendations for changes and keep documentation current.
  • Work with business to understand requirements and help to translate them into actionable IT tasks.
  • Building critical working relationships with the business and users.

Required Technical Experience:

  • Knowledge of and experience with reporting packages (Business Objects, etc.), Databases (SQL, etc.), and Programming.
  • Experience in data collection/sourcing techniques with SQL.
  • Expertise in Data Quality and cleansing methodologies and be able to identify/troubleshoot data issues.
  • Previous experience working experience as a data analyst or business data analyst.
  • Strong banking background, and bonus if experienced in item processing and experience with FIS IBS suite of products (preferred not required).
  • Strong Analytical skills with attention to detail.
  • Experience of working with Jira.
  • Experience analyzing ETL pipelines in Informatica/SSIS to identify/troubleshoot data issues.
  • Experience working on Cloud Platforms in AWS/Azure/GCP and working in hybrid environment.
  • Knowledge of enterprise data management technologies, including Data warehousing and at least one ETL tool.
  • Knowledge of Tableau /Power BI or any BI tool and be able to build and support dashboards is an added advantage.
  • Knowledge of SQL Server and SSIS.
  • Understanding of SDLC and Agile Techniques.

Required Functional Experience:

  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to collect, organize, analyze, and disseminate significant amounts of information with attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Adept at queries, report writing and presenting findings with Flowcharts and presentation decks.
  • Resilience and commitment during periods of uncertainty and change.
  • Able to work effectively as part of a team.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills e.g. the ability to facilitate group discussions.
  • Able to rapidly acquire a sound high-level understanding of new business and technical domains.
  • Able to interpret data, analyze results using statistical techniques and provide ongoing reports.
  • Develop and implement databases, data collection systems, data analytics and other strategies that optimize statistical efficiency and quality.
  • Identify, analyze, and interpret trends or patterns in complex data sets.
  • Work with management to prioritize business and information needs.
  • Ability to document, establish and adhere to standards including source control, software configuration.
