Build Release Engineer

Terrific long term contract opportunity in Irving, TX for a Build Release Engineer. Will work with many Application Leads to understand the needs of infrastructure/services from DevOps front. Will collaborate with development, UAT, production Support and Infrastructure teams and manage deployment artifacts as it moves through entire deployment pipeline.
  • Thorough knowledge of SDLC and code propagation.
  • Knowledge of cloud, container services and docker/open shift implementations and architecture.
  • Manage Big Data resource configuration and co-ordinate set up with infrastructure support teams.
  • Manage and develop continuous integration, build and deployment automation frameworks.
  • Mentor and guide team to provide complete support to the development teams, and work with teams having global presence.
  • Build setup configurations on WAS/TOMCAT and standalone Java application servers, understand Hadoop/big data infrastructure.
  • Thorough understanding of application topology and software.
  • Manage and administer different source control systems and branching schemes.
  • Very good troubleshooting and debugging skills, easily understand the logs and configurations and provide solution of the issues on all infra and configuration related activities.
  • Open to feedback and constructive thought process. Recommend and execute improvements.
  • Easily mingle with team and has positive attitude towards work. Need to be involved in capacity planning and infra procurement with tech leads and infrastructure management teams.
  • Create technical documentation for reference and reporting.
  • 6+ years of experience in SDLC, CI and CD tools, Configuration and Release Management, deployments and troubleshooting environments.
  • Experience with Linux systems and hands-on shell scripting, Java/J2EE and Big Data systems.
  • Experience with Docker/OpenShift.
  • Experience with GIT and any Git Remote repository tool, branching and merging strategies.
  • Strong experience in configuring WAS and Tomcat application servers and setup.
  • Strong experience with Maven, Shell Scripts and Jenkins configuration.
  • Knowledge of Public Cloud.
  • Knowledge of Jira, Confluence, ServiceNow.
  • Exposure to middleware, NAS and SFTP setups and Big Data cluster configurations.
  • Knowledge on Docker implementation and containerization.
  • Thorough knowledge on DevOps processes and deployment tools.
  • Exposure in setting up TIBCO, NAS, SFTP.
  • Excellent documentation and presentation skills.
  • Think out of the box to create solutions.
  • Unix, Shell Scripting.
  • Thorough knowledge of source code management, build and deployment tools.
  • Knowledge of Maven and Artifactory.
  • Good knowledge of Cloud, container services and Hadoop Infrastructure.
  • Troubleshooting skills to review configuration scripts, deployment logs, etc.
  • Knowledge of web server, application server, middleware and database architecture.
  • Good understanding of Entitlement & CMP process.
  • Other skills such as MicroStrategy, Tableau, AWS and Big Data is a plus.
  • Key Skills: Docker, EB Jenkins, Java, J2EE, Tomcat, WebSphere, PLSQL (Simple Queries), Unix Shell Scripting
  • Nice to have Skills: ETL knowledge, Release Management, Monitoring (App Dynamics), Profiling, Performance Tuning, Code/Query Optimization
