SAS Programmer

Grow your career as a SAS Programmer with an innovative global bank working in Elk Grove Village, IL. 6+ month contract opportunity (with strong chance for extension). Will be required to work onsite 3 days per week. Will interpret requirements and perform contextual business focused testing and will work with the Business Analyst to build integration, regression, and functional tests.

Responsibilities:
  • Review requirements, specifications and technical design documents then translate them into functional level test requirements.
  • Create detailed, comprehensive, and well-structured test approach and estimate the test effort.
  • Document and prioritize test conditions and test scenarios.
  • Execute test cases in a formal testing environment to identify, log, and track defects.
  • Support data conditioning for E2E and other domain integration testing.
  • Test multiple projects at the same time and able to shift priorities.
  • Collaborate, communicate with different teams, and triage technical issues across teams.
  • Identify opportunities and implement changes to increase testing automation and testing depth.

Qualifications:
  • BA/BS in a technical field.
  • 5+ years of technical background working as a Programmer or Tester.
  • Strong Unix/SAS/SQL.
  • Strong execution of test cases.
  • Knowledge of SAS language and ability to create small to intermediate SAS programs.
  • Strong working knowledge of UNIX command line and ability to create UNIX shell scripts in Korn Shell.
  • Strong understanding of Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC), testing methodologies, tools and processes.
  • Strong with basic SQL queries to deal with backend testing.
  • Knowledge of Autosys or other job scheduler.
  • Knowledge of ETL processes.
  • Working knowledge of test management software tool like Microfocus ALM/Quality Center.
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to research, problem solve, and work independently.
  • Prefer experience working with mainframe systems.
  • Prefer knowledge of the credit card industry.
  • Prefer experience with credit bureau attributes.
  • Prefer experience building/enhancing/maintaining an automated regression test suite.
