Position: Risk and Controls Consultant
Location: CHARLOTTE, North Carolina
Term: 12 months

Day-to-Day Responsibilities:

  • Lead support functions or operations for multiple business groups and contribute to large scale strategic initiatives.
  • Ensure efficiency, quality, cost effectiveness of solutions, and pipeline management relating to assigned operations.
  • Research moderately complex business, operational, and strategic initiatives that require analytical skills, basic knowledge of organizational strategy and Business Execution, and understanding of international business.
  • Work independently to make recommendations for support function by providing support and leadership.
  • Assist in the planning and execution of a variety of programs and initiatives that may include risk mitigation, efficiency, and customer experience.
  • Collaborate and consult with team leaders in developing project plans, policies and procedures.
  • Provide leadership in management of relationships and implementation of programs, services, and initiatives with cross functional business partners.  
  • Resource will support the *Internal control program* which focuses on building out risk and control suit as a function of RCSA.
  • Leverage controls from other parts of the organization to see if they can be applied to other business lines.
  • Assess the fit of the risks that have been identified and control process.
  • Ensure proper flow of information while taking care that requests are being resolved.
  • Act as an adviser, project support, and liaison between business lines to facilitate control matchmaking process.
  • Perform formal escalation activities.

  • Project support skills - building relationships, providing white- glove-service through arbitration, chasing updates, and obtaining requirements/ approvals
  • Risk and Controls experience
  • Knowledge of compliance (opts risk/ compliance risk)
  • Financial service controls
  • Ability to identify and work with controls
  • Workflow management skills - specifically the ability to ensure requests get processed in a timely fashion
  • SHRP
  • SNOW – RCSA workflow tool
  • Microsoft Office Suit – basic skills
  • Organized
  • Able to work through dozens of cases at once.
