This growing North American transportation and logistics leader has an immediate full-time opportunity in Eagan, MN for a Payroll Tax Analyst.  This position requires working onsite Monday-Friday (8am-4:30pm with a 30 minute lunch).  The Payroll Tax Analyst will work closely with the Senior Tax Analyst and will serve as the primary resource for researching tax law changes and monitoring changes to the payroll system when tax laws are updated. The Payroll Tax Analyst will conduct a regular review of payroll data input and audit of tax accounts and assist the payroll function in processing multi-state payroll and adjustments for all employees. Will manage and reconcile payroll taxes at the employer and employee level. Will assist with reconciliation to ADP Tax Service reports, preparation, and ensuring compliance. The Payroll Tax Analyst is responsible for supporting the preparation, review and filing of Federal, State and Local taxes.

Responsibilities:
•    Performing periodic audits, as well as organizing and maintaining tax records to ensure compliance.
•    Reconciling, researching, and responding to Federal, State, Local and provincial tax agency tax notices working with 3rd party vendor.
•    Working on special projects as required, including internal and external audits, W2 and W2c balancing.
•    Supporting and producing necessary payroll tax details for various internal and external requests i.e. Dept. of Labor Reporting, Multiple Worksite Reporting, and Bureau of Labor Statistics.
•    Ensuring documentation of Payroll Tax SOPs (Standard Operating Procedures) are maintained and updated as necessary.
•    Collaborating with payroll team to resolve employee inquiries/cases within the SLA timeframe.
•    Collectively collaborating with team to proactively monitor internal controls to ensure accuracy, compliance, and timely tax filing & reporting to government authorities.
•    Proactively auditing and validating payroll tax filings reports submitted by the 3rd party service provider.
•    Supporting and reviewing Quarter Balancing & Year End processes with 3rd Party Vendor.
•    Assisting with quarterly and annual audit engagements with Internal & External Auditors. Ensuring informational requests are documented, information is provided and that any issues are clearly identified and resolved.
•    Communicating with coordinators and other departments to answer questions and resolve problems.
•    Establishing and maintaining cooperative and effective working relationships with others.
•    Performing other related duties as assigned.

Requirements:
•    At least 2 years' experience with US Payroll Tax and HCM software. ADP Vantage System experience is strongly preferred; CPP certification a plus.
•    In-depth functional experience with ADP Vantage/ADP SmartCompliance preferred.
•    Experience with researching and filing tax notices received from the IRS.
•    Experience with multi-state tax processing and filing.
•    Strong mathematical, analytical, and technical skills.
•    Ability to quickly learn and utilize all necessary software programs.
•    Excellent customer service skills.
•    Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to analyze data, draw conclusions, and develop actionable recommendations.
•    Self-starter, able to drive work forward within an agile environment.
•    High tolerance for ambiguity, challenge, and change.
•    Ability to show composure in difficult circumstances.
•    Attention to detail, well developed written and verbal communication skills, ability to take initiative, as well as excellent time management and prioritization abilities is required.
•    2 Years working with database reporting systems, word processing and spreadsheet software experience (i.e., Access, Word, Excel) including written documentation that describes installation and operating procedures and the ability to write complex formulas and calculations; experience using pivot tables and vlookups.
