This North American Transportation and Logistics industry leader has an immediate full-time opportunity for a Payroll Manager. This position requires working in the North Dallas/Addison office 2 days per week. Will be responsible for managing the payroll processing of over 10,000+ US employees on a weekly and bi-weekly basis in a fast-paced organization for a multi-state employer. This person will ensure that payroll is compliant with all federal, state, and local payroll laws in addition to maintaining SOX and internal audit compliance. This role will
drive efficiency and process improvement including performing audits and reconciliations of payroll data while reviewing all phases of payroll and various functions associated with it and approve payrolls weekly. Will have oversight over the administration of payroll policies and procedures, regulations,
partnering with HR, Accounting & Finance, and division leaders to drive standardization and optimization of all payroll policies and procedures. The Payroll Manager will be the primary escalation point for payroll related inquiries, he/she will respond to frequent and urgent requests for information relating to payroll, payroll policy matters and requires exceptional attention to detail, problem solving, and excellent customer service support skills.
Key Responsibilities:
• Managing payroll processing operations for 10,000+ multi-state employee on a weekly basis.
• Monitoring governmental and statutory requirements for tax obligations and wage payments.
• Establishing policies and payroll procedures including accurate calculation of wages, company deductions, garnishments, tax withholding, bonus payments and deferred stock payments.
• Performing analysis, generating reports, and assisting with special projects that will streamline processes and improve procedures.
• Managing day to day issue resolution and task prioritization of the team to ensure service level expectations are met.
• Acting as point of escalation and work to identify, track, document, and resolve errors, issues, and risks proactively with timely further escalation of unresolved items to senior management.
• Reviewing work of payroll processing team members ensuring payroll cycles are processed accurately and completed within required time periods, ensuring required approvals for changes.
• Reviewing and approving pay end remittances, and ensuring payments and reporting is completed within set due dates.
• Ensuring the accurate and on-time governmental reporting and compliance.
• Collaborating with internal stakeholders (including HR, Finance, IT, Accounting, Legal, Operations, Tax, and Internal Audit) to address complaints, support information requests, resolve problems/issues and implement changes that will create a best-in-class payroll operation and an excellent associate
experience.
• Managing setup of payroll for newly established entities and support expansion to new divisions.
• Researching, reviewing, analyzing, designing and testing systems and current procedures/processes, identifying areas for improvement and developing and implementing a standardization system across the organization.
• Maintaining industry trend knowledge by participating in ADP Bridge Community and other forums, including on-line discussions, brainstorms, voting, training, webinars, etc.
• Developing and manageing special projects as identified by the Director of Payroll (i.e. Paycard Implementation, Paperless Initiative, Acquisitions, Year-End, etc.)
• Managing relationships with third-party service providers.
• Maintaining confidentiality of any payroll, private employee information and any proprietary information and ensuring payroll information is secure.
• Providing performance management feedback to staff/management and providing recommendations on individual performance of team members to senior staff.
• Providing back-up coverage to payroll team in the case of absences when required.
• Performing other related duties as assigned

Key Requirements:
• Bachelor's degree or equivalent combination of education and experience required.
• 7-10+ years experience in processing payroll for companies with at least 10,000 employees.
• 5+ years of experience in a payroll management capacity with responsibility for preparing federal and state payroll tax reports.
• 3+ years of experience in ADP Vantage System experience is strongly preferred.
• 5+ years multi-state payroll processing & tax administration experience preferred.
• CPP certification strongly recommended.
• Experience processing payroll for both union and non-union employees.
• Experience in Shared Services organization processing multiple and complex payroll systems.
• Strong leadership skills balanced with a willingness to play a 'hands-on' role.
• Commitment to accuracy and quality, with superior attention to detail.
• Flexible; able to perform and deliver excellent results under high pressure.
• Extensive knowledge in Payroll & Accounting procedures and Payroll Tax Laws & Regulations.
