This North American Transportation and Logistics industry leader has an immediate full-time opportunity for a Payroll Analyst (Manual Check Analyst) . This position requires working in the North Dallas/Addison office 2 days per week.  Under the direction of the Ancillary Payroll Manager, will coordinate and participate in technical payroll accounting activities; participate in the preparation, maintenance, processing, analysis and auditing of manual and automated payroll data, information, records, and reports; ensure accuracy and completeness of payroll transactions and provide direction and guidance to staff.

Responsibilities:
• Follow policies and procedures; develop and/or recommend new or revised procedures for improving the overall efficiency of the payroll department.
• Prepare or assist in the preparation of periodic/special reports for 3rd party agencies, Internal and External auditors, insurance companies, union association and other units of the company as required.
• Audit and prepare accurate allocation and coding of the payroll invoices and submit for payment processing.
• Interpret and understand collective bargaining agreements, provide required reports, and process payments on monthly and weekly basis.
• Create invoices and instant payments in Accounting system.
• Monitor, audit and reconcile manual check data monthly.
• Audit stale dated checks monthly, identify next step and understand escheatment laws for each state.
• Monitor bank rejection notices on employees pay checks and audit the Reversal and Reissue process for accuracy.
• Participate in the preparation and maintenance of various financial and statistical records, reports and statements related to payroll funding and general ledger.
• Research, analyze and resolve payroll related problems or questions by collecting and analyzing information.
• Communicate with employees and other departments to answer questions and resolve problems.
• Establish and maintain cooperative and effective working relationships with others.
• Performs other related duties as assigned.

Requirements:
• Good understanding of pay calculations, payroll processes, pay standards and wage and hour laws.
• Experience with Oracle Accounting software and ADP Vantage System is strongly preferred.
• Strong mathematical, analytical, and technical skills.
• Excellent customer service skills are required.
• Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to analyze data, draw conclusions, and develop actionable recommendations/
• Self-starter, able to drive work forward within an agile environment.
• High tolerance for ambiguity, challenge, and change.
• Ability to show composure in difficult circumstances.
• Attention to detail, well-developed written and verbal communication skills, ability to take initiative, as well as excellent time management and prioritization abilities is required.
