Formal Job Description

Official Title (per client) - Lead UX Designer

Senior UX/UI Designer will help the company take large complex feature sets and create intuitive, elegant, and cohesive experiences across our digital products. These products include touch screen consoles and the Apps.

This role requires a deep understanding of the user experience design process. You need a passion for problems and the ability to immerse yourself in the pains and difficulties our customers face every day. You’ll be designing iteratively to ensure users interact with our products in a safe and engaging way. Throughout each feature, you will own how the digital interfaces “look”, “feel”, and “work”. You constantly strive for perfection through meticulous visual design while understanding there is a time to push and a time to learn.

Our Senior UX/UI designers are comfortable starting with ambiguity and driving team alignment through research, workshops, and presentations. You can synthesize multiple inputs and feedback from the larger team into a cohesive approach.

As a Senior UX/UI Designer, you will work closely with your fellow designers to create wireframes, build low and high-fidelity designs and prototypes, and expand UI design patterns for multiple platforms. You will work closely with our Biomechanics team to understand how users process workout information and how the digital and physical experiences intersect. You will take your designs to completion by supporting and collaborating with Product, Engineering, Marketing, and Quality Assurance.

What you’ll do:

  • Design UX and UI for a complex range of large-scale projects - typically as the primary designer on a given feature set.
  • Work in close partnership with the Product Manager to fulfill the overall product vision.
  • Leverage existing research or begin new research initiatives to gain the information needed to fully understand the end-user.
  • Create users flows, product maps, wireframes to ensure all team members are aligned around the core problem and solution space.
  • Quickly iterate on designs and offer multiple versions based on critique from peers or learnings found from user testing.
  • Work within the existing design system, while continuing to enhance and expand as new features are built.
  • Mockup and document all states, edge cases, and additional logic for engineering teams to build out.
  • QA final software releases for visual accuracy and provide detailed feedback to engineering through multiple revisions until product launch.

What you bring with you:

  • 5+ years in a UX/UI design role working closely with a product management team
  • Able to consider wider business goals, delivering intuitive and user-centered design solutions
  • Great design velocity: able and willing to quickly produce multiple concepts
  • Belief in data-driven design and ability to work with various analytics platforms to help inform and validate design decisions
  • Highly attentive to detail and able to critique and push designs to a best-in-class level
  • Experience with user research tools and methodologies or a strong desire to learn
  • Proficient in Figma, XD or Sketch (Figma strongly preferred) and a working knowledge of Photoshop & Illustrator Experience presenting your work through a compelling narrative and collecting feedback from cross-functional team
  • Working knowledge of interaction patterns and limitations within modern web and native app development
  • Great written and spoken communication skills
  • Good project management skill
