Java Developer - Order Management Systems

Essential Job Functions (Tasks, Duties and Responsibilities)

Order Management Development (80%)

  • Responsible for day-to-day development activities and new project initiatives for OMS Extension components. 
  • Be a development expert in the Companies eCommerce OMS and Inventory Visibility Sterling software development lifecycle includes technical design, implementation, documentation, testing, deployment, and support.
  • Own and maintain the Sterling OMS Custom Java Code repository and perform timely code reviews.
  • Maintain the master configuration data, CDT process and manage the CI/CD process.
  • Participate as a team member of business analysts, SME, consultants, and vendors responsible for delivering business requirements documentation, process flows, functional specifications, and system design and requirement documentation.
  • Coordinate requests for new feature functionality & change requests with our external development partner and ensure quality of the deliverables.
  • Participate in tests, including system, integration, and customer acceptance, for modified and new systems, and other post-implementation support activities.
  • Network with internal and external stakeholders to identify opportunities to improve Order Management through better usage of existing system functionality, development of new enhancements, and/or adaptation of better business processes.
  • Collaborate closely with Order Management software providers and professional services partner(s)                                                           

Management Production Support and Maintenance (20%)

  • Deliver high quality of production support and maintenance service levels agreements.
  • Lead and/or participate in outage calls and Root Cause Analysis for production problems.
  • Coordinate with business and support teams to design, and document dashboards, alerts, and reports.

Knowledge Skill and Ability Requirements (Minimum Required for Job Performance)

  • 3+ years experience with hands-On Java Programming and familiarity with SOA, XML, REST, JSON and specifically in developing Java-based extensions of Sterling OMS. (Preferred)
  • 2+ years experience with Sterling OMS application delivery, or equivalent. (Preferred)
  • 2+ years experience with Order and Inventory Management (order capture, order allocation, order fulfillment, supply demand matching, inventory management, purchase order management), preferably in a multi-channel environment (eCommerce, Retail, Wholesale).(Preferred)
  • Strong architectural, design, analytical, and communication skills are required.
  • Distributed Order Management experience is highly desirable.
  • Self-assured and confident with a professional approach; ability to work under pressure toward tight deadlines; willingness to learn, a can-do attitude, and motivated to succeed and grow.

Prior work Experience and Educational Requirements

  • Bachelors degree in Computer Science or Engineering or equivalent experience is required
  • Retail experience preferred

Physical Demands

  • Based in the Buckhead Office
  • No physical lifting of goods and/or equipment
