Human Resources Specialist
5-month contract 

Summary:
Provide daily support needed to ensure a successful Human Resources Management System; this position is responsible for the overall help desk services function, end user training programs for the HRMS system.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities: 
Respond and resolve help desk inquiries related to data entry and HR Policy.
Track and report on overall quantity and type of help desk requests and resolutions.
Identify and report findings of end user needs/issues. Initiate efforts and procedures to maintain data integrity, troubleshoot and recommend solutions.
Enter changes to employee personnel records in, New Hires, Payroll Status Changes, Tax changes, Direct deposit changes, and address changes.
Enter Tax Credits in ADP Tax Portal. Update files to document personnel actions and to provide information for payroll and other users.
Examines employee files to answer inquiries and provides information to authorized persons.
Resolve eTime inquiries. Keys FMLA Dates in DAX. Maintain current knowledge of IRS and DOL regulations.

Education and/or Experience:
  • Bachelors degree and three to five years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Language Skills:
  • Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos.
  • Ability to write simple correspondence.
  • Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers, clients, and other employees of the organization.

  • Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form.
  • Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.


Computer Skills:
To perform this job successfully advanced skill for MS Office (Word, Excel, Access, PowerPoint, Internet and Email) are required.

  • Experience with HRIS Systems (Ceridian, Microsoft Dynamics or other) are required.


OTHER SKILLS AND ABILITIES:

  • Must demonstrate attention to detail.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills with internal and external customers.
  • Must be self-motivated, willing to take initiative and work with little supervision.

Normal Hours of Work Monday through Friday from 7:00a.m. to 4:00 p.m. Some flexibility with occasional overtime as required.
