This nationwide insurance industry leader has an immediate 6+ month contract opportunity (with opportunity for extension or conversion) for a Guidewire Billing Center Technical Lead.  Must be a strong Guidewire Billing Center Tech Lead and not Policy/Claim Center oriented. Can work 100% remotely from anywhere in the United States.  In this lead role, you will be operating autonomously, with a broad impact across multiple systems and the IT division. Seen as an expert in defining system scope and objectives based on business/user needs, you will provide guidance and training to less experienced software engineers. Will be responsible for instructing, directing, and checking the work of others.  Responsibilities include:

•    Providing consultation as technical and system business expert on key business systems for a team or project.
•    Collaborating with the business and user community to define and design technology solutions within a dedicated team or project team.
•    Leading other software engineers within their team to accomplish business goals.
•    Utilizing proficiency with all aspects of the software development lifecycle.
•    Devising or modifying complex procedures to solve problems for a dedicated team or project team.
•    Analyzing and revising existing system logic difficulties and documentation within the team.
•    Maintaining and updating team owned system artifacts so they do not become stale over time.
•    Being the communication bridge across IT product/project teams to make sure duplicate work does not occur.

This position requires:

•    College degree in computer science or other technical field required or equivalent work experience.
•    Guidewire Product Certifications in both configuration and integration in at least 2 Centers
•    3-5 years of senior level Guidewire experience in analysis, developing and writing code as well as at 2 years’ experience working to complex assignments and structures, and leading initiatives for the development team.
•    Enterprise-scale Java development experience strongly preferred.
•    Expert in all aspects of the software development lifecycle.
•    Strong communication and leadership skills (accountability, communication, developing talent, leading people through change, continuous learning).
•    Strong understanding of Guidewire Best Practices, DevOps Best Practices (CI\CD, Automation etc), with the ability to investigate and fix problems.
•    Ability to convert high-level design into detailed low-level design.
•    Experience in Code Management, Release Management, Environment Management.
•    Prefer experience with Guidewire cluster, workload distribution and optimization.
•    Nice to have:  Knowledge of general IT infrastructure concepts.
•    Nice to have: Knowledge on High Availability, Scalability (Horizontal and Vertical), Disaster Recovery etc.  
•    Nice to have: Knowledge on Security Best Practices for Guidewire Applications.
•    Nice to have: Knowledge in Application Performance Management practices.
