Grow your career as a Graphic Designer - Accessibility/ADA with an innovative global bank in New York, NY. Long-term contract with excellent growth potential. Will be required to be onsite 2-3 days per week. Will be the in-house expert (the team will seek expert guidance from), but will receive support from the company’s global accessibility team. Will work every weekend as part of a standard schedule. Days are Friday - Monday. Friday and Monday will be standard hours, Saturday & Sunday will be 4-5 hour work days.
  • 1-2+ years of designing, formatting, and remediating documents which are accessible.
  • Excellent knowledge of accessibility standard WCAG 2.0 and above – Level AA.
  • A detailed knowledge of the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) in respect to accessible design.
  • Expertise in laying out and formatting ADA-compliant documents.
  • Remediation of accessibility issues identified from using Adobe Acrobat PRO.
  • Ability -where needed- to identify appropriate text for accessibility purposes (e.g., confident in identifying Document title, Author name, keywords, figure titles).
  • An understanding of screen-reader software and designing documents to be read aloud.
  • Ability to run automated and manual accessibility testing on document.
  • Able to apply styles, tagging, alt text, ToC/ reading order, and metadata from Adobe InDesign
  • Experience using keyboard-only testing/manual inspection of documents.
  • Experience using a colour contrast analyser.
  • Software: Adobe InDesign, Microsoft Word, Adobe Acrobat PRO/DC
