This international financial services industry leader has an immediate full-time need in Cary, NC for a Google Cloud Platform (GCP) Cloud Architect. This AVP level position requires working onsite at least 2 days per week in a hybrid working model.  Will be responsible for creating and implementing a strategy to move applications to Google Cloud Platform (GCP). Ideal professionals are well versed in the challenges large companies face across their people, process, and technology when implementing large-scale cloud migrations and/or digital transformations. You will also be working with the CTO helping to complete the Architecture Governance Framework (AGF). As Cloud Architect, you will work cross-functionally to provide CIO domains with enterprise cloud architecture support, solutions as well as collaborate with the Central Cloud Design team supporting GCP migration.

Responsibilities:

  • Performing application portfolio review to identify GCP migration candidates to build a robust cloud roadmap for Corporate Bank.

  • Develop and implement strategies for moving on-premises software to the cloud.

  • Help with the application reviews to define migration options and designs.

  • Partner with application teams to develop target cloud solution architecture patterns and system requirements, analyze existing application and IT deployments, propose requirements and designs, craft an automation approach, drive implementation.

  • Ensure that proposed designs are aligned with the Cirrus program guidelines.

  • Represent the organization in Cirrus Design/Architecture forums.

Requirements:

  • Extensive Google Cloud Platform (GCP) architecture experience.

  • Experience with creating and implementing a strategy to move applications to Google Cloud Platform (GCP).

  • Extensive experience translating enterprise customer needs into cloud architectures and approaches solving complex technology cloud migrations challenges within a banking, financial services domains.

  • Extensive experience working in an IT role supporting enterprise scale technology deployments.

  • Experience in both operations and application development roles.

  • Strong foundational infrastructure skills, including familiarity with compute, storage, and networking.

  • Experience and understanding of large-scale infrastructure deployments in enterprise-wide environments.

  • Written and verbal communication skills, including group leadership and executive presentations.

  • Aptitude for collaboration and ability to lead and influence a team of leaders, as well as mentor engineers.

  • Strong work ethic, able to multi-task, and ability to work well under pressure.

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Math, a related technical field, or equivalent practical experience.

  • Excellent active listening skills that enable you to understand the goals and challenges to craft meaningful solutions.
