Position: Lead Specialty Software Engineer
Location: Charlotte, NC, 28202
Term: 12 months

Day-to-Day Responsibilities:

  • Lead complex technology initiatives including those that are companywide with broad impact.
  • Act as a key participant in developing standards and companywide best practices for engineering complex and large scale technology solutions for technology engineering disciplines.
  • Design, code, test, debug, and document for projects and programs.
  • Review and analyze complex, large-scale technology solutions for tactical and strategic business objectives, enterprise technological environment, and technical challenges that require in-depth evaluation of multiple factors, including intangibles or unprecedented technical factors.
  • Make decisions in developing standard and companywide best practices for engineering and technology solutions requiring understanding of industry best practices and new technologies, influencing and leading technology team to meet deliverables and drive new initiatives.
  • Collaborate and consult with key technical experts, senior technology team, and external industry groups to resolve complex technical issues and achieve goals.
  • Lead projects, teams, or serve as a peer mentor.
  • Lead complex initiatives on selected domains. Ensure systems are monitored to increase operational efficiency and managed to mitigate risk.
  • Define opportunities to maximize resource utilization and improve processes while reducing cost.
  • Lead, design, develop, test and implement applications and system components, tools and utilities, models, simulation, and analytics to manage complex business functions using sophisticated technologies.
  • Resolve coding, testing and escalated platform issues of a technically challenging nature.
  • Lead team to ensure compliance and risk management requirements for supported area are met and work with other stakeholders to implement key risk initiatives.
  • Mentor less experienced software engineers.
  • Collaborate and influence all levels of professionals including managers.
  • Lead team to achieve objectives.
  • Partner with production support and platform engineering teams effectively.

Is this a good fit? (Requirements):

  • 8+ years of application development and implementation experience using SQL Server, SSIS and other ETL tool.
  • Strong Experience in Microsoft SQL Server T-SQL Development such as complex stored procedures, data load, views.
  • Experience in SQL Server performance tuning and query monitoring.
  • Design SSIS ETL packages to move data from various sources preferably from Flat files, JSON, Oracle and experience with FTP, NDM
  • Experience in software development life cycle.
  • Deployment of Database components from lower environment to UAT/Production environment.
  • Strong analytical and problem solving abilities.
  • Demonstrated project and time management skills.
  • 3+ years of experience with Waterfall and Agile project methodologies.
  • 3+ years of experience with Agile tools.
  • 3+ years of cloud experience such as Amazon Web Services (AWS), Google Cloud Platform (GCP) or MS Azure.
  • 5+ years of Specialty Software Engineering experience, or equivalent demonstrated through one or a combination of the following: work experience, training, military experience, education.

Desired qualifications:

  • Experience in writing AUTOSYS (or something similar) JIL (Job Information Language) Commands.
  • 3+ years of experience designing and implementing process solutions for automation.
  • 3+ years of build-deploy automation and configuration experience.
  • 3+ years of experience with Reporting tools like Tableau, PowerBI, MicroStrategy.
  • 3+ years of SQL & Data Development experience.
  • 1+ year of experience with DevOps environments.
  • An industry-standard technology certification.
  • Strong verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills.
  • A BS/BA degree or higher in Information technology/Computer Science/ Mathematics.

Job expectations:

  • Ability to work additional hours as needed.
  • Ability to work outside of regular business hour.
