POSITION: Essbase Engineer
LOCATIONS: Atlanta, GA - Various unanticipated long-term projects throughout the US.
POSITION DESCRIPTION: Modify existing software to correct errors, allow it to adapt to new hardware, or to improve its performance. Analyze user needs and software requirements to determine feasibility of design within time and cost constraints. Develop and direct software system testing and validation procedures, programming, and documentation. Confer with systems analysts, engineers, programmers and others to design system and to obtain information on project limitations and capabilities, performance requirements and interfaces. Store, retrieve, and manipulate data for analysis of system capabilities and requirements. Design, develop and modify software systems, using scientific analysis and mathematical models to predict and measure outcome and consequences of design. Coordinate software system installation and monitor equipment functioning to ensure specifications are met. Consult with customers about software system design and maintenance. Dodeca spreadsheet management system design and development. Relational database design and development. Utilize a thorough understanding of available technology, tools, and existing designs. Work on the most complex problems where analysis of situations or data requires evaluation of intangible variance factors. Plan, perform, and act as the escalation point for the most complex platform designs, coding, and testing. Lead most complex multiple modeling, simulations, and analysis efforts. Act as expert technical resource to programming staff in the program development, testing, and implementation process.
REQUIREMENTS: Bachelor’s degree in Software Engineering, Information Technology, Computer Science, or related degree. Two (2) years’ related experience as a Programmer Analyst or related IT occupation. Experience is required and must include the following: Providing Hyperion Production Support of Planning, Essbase and Smartview; Monitoring mainframe job by creating the files to load data into the Essbase applications; Writing MaxL, Member Formula, Calculation Scripts and Business Rules in Hyperion Essbase and Planning; and Utilizing Hyperion, Cobol, Essbase Outline Extractor and WinSCP. *Position allows remote work a couple days a week.*
