What you’ll do as a Data Steward:
Working in a professional team environment, the Data Steward will be responsible for identifying and resolving client data quality items. This person will help to research, investigate, and remediate data quality cases. The Data Steward will work to both ensure that systems are updated as needed or processes are identified and implemented to ensure high-quality client data.
Data Stewards will use various internal resources to update key client attributes. These resources include several internal systems, document management systems or direct contact with operations or client-facing teams to resolve various data anomalies.
The position requires a strong work ethic, flexibility, and the ability to remain accurate and focused while performing complex, yet repetitive data analysis and entry. This is a high-volume, accuracy-oriented environment working under strict time constraints. Primary duties include maintaining high-quality work standards and meeting productivity goals in a fast-paced environment, with a high degree of quality.
Primary Responsibilities:
- Manage the identification and resolution of client data quality issues on a daily basis.
- Work with internal operations teams to identify most accurate and consistent data standards, and ensure these standards are followed in data entry.
- Identify and report common data quality trends and identify processes to improve overall data quality.
- Lead the ongoing management and development of client data quality identification and workflow tools.
- Use internal systems to research client data and enter accurate data into various data entry screens and systems of record.
- Work with internal client-facing teams to gather complete client data profiles.
- Work with data in Excel and other tools to identify common data trends and potential data enhancements.
- Ability to do light database reporting and analysis using SQL or other tools is highly preferred.
- Meet internal/external service level standards (i.e. queue processing SLAs, quality/accuracy & productivity goals, etc.).
- Perform other duties and responsibilities as required or assigned by supervisor.
- Communicate effectively using different media at multiple levels of the organization and across organizational boundaries. Strong interpersonal skills, including the ability to diplomatically advocate for data management best practices and standards.
- Must have a minimum of 2 years banking experience, preferably opening or auditing new accounts is highly preferred.
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to organize and analyze significant amounts of information with attention to detail and accuracy
- Strong Excel data analysis skills.
- Database reporting and analysis using SQL or other tools is highly preferred.
- End user working knowledge of OnBase, and/or Total+ is a plus.
- Adept at queries, report writing and presenting findings is a plus.
- Working knowledge of MS Word and Outlook
- Proven high level of accuracy in data entry
- Excellent written and oral communications skills and the ability to clearly define projects, objectives, goals, schedules and assignments.
- Ability to work effectively with business personnel at all levels.
- Requires strong interpersonal and organizational skills, including the ability to meet deadlines, follow written policies and procedures, and maintain superior customer service at all times with all users.
- Ability to work independently and be self-directed while being a strong team player.
