This nationwide growing law firm has an immediate full-time opportunity in Downtown Dallas, TX for a Collections Manager. The Client Accounts (Collections) Manager is primarily responsible for addressing specialized needs of the Client Inventory Management. Will lead a team of 3 Collections Specialists. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to, analyzing Client accounts receivable, retainer balances and unapplied payments, and developing/implementing processes and procedures to facilitate required analyses and reporting. Will work closely with Billing Attorneys, reaching out to Client contacts to ensure timely payments of outstanding invoices, successfully resolving difficult receivables, and providing firm leadership with information, analysis and action plans regarding Client payment trends, risks and challenges.
This position requires working onsite Monday-Friday.
Responsibilities:

Lead a team of 3 Collections Specialists including training, time management, and performance management

Lead and/or assist with all aspects of receivables management with a heightened focus on resolving significantly delinquent accounts

Develop new processes / reporting as needed to facilitate collections management

Maintain constant communication/interaction with Clients and Billing Attorneys regarding status of AR / Retainer Balances / Unapplied monies

Provide periodic update information to Billing Attorneys regarding the status of their Client inventory positions

Deliver a high level of service to ensure Attorney and Client satisfaction while exercising appropriate discretion and independent judgment in the execution of assigned duties

Maintain a focus on quality of all communications with Firm Management, Billing Attorneys and Clients

Work collaboratively with the Billing Manager to efficiently address any billing / e-billing concerns or address any at-risk WIP

Proactively identify inventory trends and risks and develop sensible action plans to address them

Focus on reducing the AR write-offs of the Firm and minimizing AR that is over 90 days old

Work to help develop improved work flow methods for common AR tasks that will minimize time required of Billing Attorneys for request/approvals but still maintain appropriate internal controls

Work collaboratively with Business Intake and the Conflicts Attorney related to vetting new clients for potential financial risk, helping to maintain the approved client list, and the transfer of clients/matters when an attorney leaves the Firm

Interview all exiting attorneys. Coordinate the transfer of retained matters to other billing attorneys and coordinate any final billing for transferred matters with the Billing Manager / Billing Team. Coordinate the closing of associated clients/matters with the Matter Maintenance Team

Meet regularly with Firm leadership to discuss potential at risk accounts and develop action plans to address issues in a prompt and effectual way

Interact closely with the cash applications team to ensure timely and accurate postings of client payments

All other duties, as directed, to ensure the success of the Team and Firm
Qualifications:

Bachelor's degree preferred

5 or more years of related experience in law firm and/or business-to-business collections
