Our Healthcare Insurance client is seeking a Medical Coding Specialist Associate to join their team for a contract role!

Position: Medical Coding Specialist Associate
Term: 6 + Months
Location: Remote, within 50 miles of Durham NC
- Experience with medical coding, proficient with ICD9 & ICD10
- CPC (Certified Professional Coding), specifically AAPC or AHIMA
- Risk adjustment codding, HCC coding.
The incumbent will use clinical and coding expertise to analyze medical records. The Coding Specialist reviews necessary documentation to gather data that supports diagnosis coding and HCC coding following the Official Coding Guidelines for ICD-10 and CMS guidelines for Risk Adjustment Coding. Emphasis is placed on identifying Chronic Conditions and applying the appropriate ICD-10 code. The Coding Specialist utilizes provided reference material and official sources to support the diagnosis coding.
