Dynamic 3rd party logistics company with clients nationwide, is seeking a Business Systems Analyst who can work onsite at a client based in Allentown, PA. This is not a remote position. Must be able to travel 25-50%.
In this role, you will be the subject matter expert (SME) for HighJump warehouse management systems solutions including reporting, labor management, inventory optimization, inventory planning, etc. You will provide the appropriate training to employees at all levels, ensuring they are able to use the WMS effectively.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Troubleshoot and diagnose system issues for users onsite. Addresses complaints, resolves problems, and instruct users on corrective actions.
- Prioritize work orders and work to resolve in the order of business importance. Keep appropriate staff updated on the status of outstanding work orders.
- Modify warehouse management system security files to add new employees, delete former employees, and change employee names, following notice received from computer user departments and personnel office.
- Ensure that users are accessing systems at appropriate levels.
- Test software upgrades and update software validation documentation.
- Apply working knowledge of SQL programming language, as well as use of technical knowledge of connecting to and manipulating relational databases, extracting data, and writing/modifying business intelligence and other systems reports.
- Assist reporting solution administration, providing analytical queries and tools for operational management as needed.
- Conduct periodic inventory slotting and zoning analysis in warehouse and executes changes in collaboration with Operations.
- Conduct system configuration, including establishing new locations, zones, search paths, reason codes, and label development. Modify and control items contained in the SKU Master database.
- Train employees on system and related device usage.
- Assist in technical specifications and other deliverable documents
- Develop test cases and plans to complete the unit testing.
- Provide on-call support for production applications.
- Monitor and configure application performance and improve response times
- Troubleshoot and repair Warehouse Handheld Scanners / Devices, and hardware
- Periodically review and analyze software and hardware needs, recommend changes and upgrades to provide efficient, effective and timely service to the users at all levels in the company
- Observe and report equipment performance deficiencies, coordinate equipment repairs and suggest alternative devices
- Prepare/perform, various administrative activities, such as maintaining software files, computer, telephone and computer related equipment inventory, etc.
- Maintain all servers, software, hardware and user devices. Develop, implement and maintain the preventative maintenance and replacement schedule.
- Manage the design, development and/or implementation of new or enhanced systems projects or programs.
- Maintain appropriate disaster recovery protocols and periodically audits protocols to ensure they are effective.
- Maintain proper system back up processes.
- Bachelor’s degree (B.A.) from a four-year College or University in Information Technology or related field; or one to two years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Experience with warehouse or logistics, JDA / Red Prairie or HighJump preferred, but not required
- Working skills with SQL Queries and Programming.
- Warehousing or Logistics Industry experience.
- Help Desk or User Resolution experience.
- Experience with formal project management practices
- Knowledge of formal systems development methodologies
- Excellent planning, client support, communication and organization skills
- Facilitate or participate in meetings with Warehouse/Operations teams
- Excellent knowledge of hardware, OS (Windows), network and communications, multi-tiered architecture and applications
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Completes work independently; receives general guidance on tasks.
