The Business Intelligence Analyst is responsible for researching and solving business problems, performing data analysis, creating data reporting solutions, and the development of data models and business intelligence tools with direction from the Corporate Analytics Manager.

Responsibilities May Include But Are Not Limited To:

  • Work with the BI and Analytics Team, management, and business users to understand, document, and provide insight into business challenges
  • Collaborate with the BI and Analytics Team, management, and business users to implement data visualizations, dashboards, KPIs, and reports
  • Develop business analyses and data models using Excel, SQL, SSAS, or other BI and analysis tools
  • Assist the Corporate Analytics Manager and Information Services department to define requirements for business analytics infrastructure
  • Create technical documentation, test solutions, and work to resolve any issues with BI applications/models
  • Evaluate and improve existing BI tools with an emphasis on moving legacy tools to Power BI
  • Present recommendations and findings from analysis efforts to business stakeholders
  • Work with other departments within the organization to develop novel ways to analyze and use business data to drive operations excellence.

Education and Experience Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business Analytics, Statistics, Mathematics, Engineering, or related field

Required Skills:

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Experience using the Microsoft BI stack (SSAS, SQL Server, SSDT, Power BI, etc.)
  • Experience developing, deploying, and maintaining tabular models and OLAP cubes using SSAS
  • Experience using Power BI, Tableau, Qlik, or other BI tools
  • Proficiency creating tables, views, and stored procedures using T-SQL and PL/SQL
  • Ability to work semi-autonomously with guidance from the Corporate Analytics Manager
  • Ability to communicate effectively with business stakeholders at all levels of the organization

Desirable Skills:

  • Experience with the Azure cloud platform, including Azure Machine Learning
  • Experience using R, Python, or other programming languages
  • Experience using DAX or MDX to query data from tabular models or OLAP cubes
