This international industry leader has an immediate 3-6+ month contract opportunity (with strong chance for extension and/or conversion) for a 3D Designer  Can work remotely from anywhere in the US, working EST business hours.  As the 3D Designer, you will collaborate in cross-disciplinary teams (design, product management) to conceive and produce new experiences, products and services. You will advise the team on what will create a highly engaging and intuitive user experience and be the voice for how design decisions will impact realization of product vision. Another responsibility is to design and deliver best practice user research, including helping team frame key questions, create research plans to address those, conduct activities, and synthesize the findings into meaningful, actionable insights. Provide hands-on craftsmanship with the ability to be self- directed and proactive, push the boundaries with what's possible in partnership with technologists and product stakeholders. The 3D Designer will also lead creation of prototypes that help communicate and validate the optimal user flow, interaction model, and screen designs, as well as lead creation of wireframes and mockups for UI that the  team can use to create stories and developers can translate into code. Being in this role you will collaborate with software developers to review, iterate and refine product design during development cycles.  

Requirements:

  • 5+ years of Design experience and a passion for architectural and creative design.  
  • Expertise in 3D modeling, textures and uv mapping to create objects, environments and animations.
  • A strong portfolio which demonstrates your level design skills and technical expertise.
  • An eye for composition, realism, textures, color, and lighting.
  • Experience applying brand or design language to create presentation media, decks, graphics, etc.
  • An exceptional portfolio of completed projects.
  • Adept knowledge of 3ds Max, Photoshop, Illustrator, and After Effects.
  • Ability to understand project requirements and conceptualize ideas.
  • Experience creating storyboards to visualize scenery and user journey.
  • Experience character animation, IK rigging, etc
  • Troubleshoot problems that emerge during the course of a project.
  • Excellent communication and teamwork qualities.
  • Efficient organizational and time management skills.
  • Logical understanding of model complexity based on target device or objective, low or high poly
  • Experience Testing, QA, QC, Problem solving challenges
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills
  • Passion for exploring new technologies
  • Must be legally authorized to work in the United States without the need for employer sponsorship, now or at any time in the future

Bonus:

  • Experience designing and developing virtual environments, assets, etc for Virtual Reality, Augmented Reality, Mixed Reality, etc.
  • Experience with Unreal or Unity 3D modeling, textures and uv mapping to create objects, environments, animations, etc
  • Project Management experience
