Our construction industry client based in Dallas is embarking on new territory and looking for a VP Technology/CIO to lead a modernization effort. The company is in growth/acquisition mode and future technology plans need to be scalable. You will be assessing current state, determining a scalable modernization plan and managing a team of 10. Preference will be given to candidates with construction or manufacturing industry and M&A experience.

What you will be doing:

  • Work with operations, technology, and executive teams to translate business strategy into technology strategy supported by ROI analysis and strong project management.
  • Understand and develop a comprehensive technology strategy over the next 18-month period, working closely with end-users for effective implementation.
  • Select and implement suitable technology to streamline all internal operations and help optimize their strategic benefits
  • Lead initiatives to evaluate the technology of potential acquisitions and managing the integration of acquired companies’ technology.
  • Provide leadership to operations, construction management, services, business development, and technology professionals, advancing our use of technology to revolutionize design and delivery processes, constantly and constructively challenging the status quo, and finding ways to integrate company’s various technology stakeholders.
  • Understand our operational needs across the enterprise, and lead effective change management to drive innovation, integration, efficiency, and results.
  • Understand the current software challenges between platforms, and “home-grown” applications, and demonstrate the ability to develop effective workarounds
  • Identify AI tools and methodologies where they can have significant business impact
  • Work across multiple intersecting operations, services, and business functions within the firm to implement systems and best practices that balance the need for enterprise consistency with the nuances of subsidiaries and their markets.
  • Identify and attract top talent, mentor, and develop internal talent, and leveraging outside consulting relationships and experience to build an efficient, world-class team.
  • Ensure operability and performance of existing technology and operating systems and reduce the risk of technological breaches through sound policy, practice, and audit procedures.
  • Collaborate with business process improvement to identify and optimize the effectiveness and efficiency of key processes across the enterprise.
