Position: Unclaimed Property & Reconciliation SpecialistLocation: Jacksonville, FL, 32204
Hourly Rate: $ 30.47/hr.

Day-to-Day Responsibilities:
Notes from call with Hiring Mgr. (on 8/2 and 8/22):
*Candidates MUST have reconciliation experience in accounting or tax area!!!!!!
*Candidates with regulatory finance or accounting experience work well in this position
*Familiarity with title, escrow, or closing a PLUS. This position is heavy on the reporting side. Therefore, the HM is
not looking for collections or heavy mortgage experience (loan officers, mortgage brokers, etc.) which is more on the sales side.
*Unclaimed property experience not required as there will be training provided on this.
*Basic to intermediate MS Excel skills a MUST
*Potential Contract-to-Hire position (based on company needs and contractor's performance)
*Hybrid -(2) days out the week; however, new contractors will start in the office to get to know the work culture and
understand the role first. Then, the manager will allow a hybrid schedule.
*Shift: Some flexibility in starting time (8am-9am) but candidate must work an (8) hour shift
*Overtime may be required (usually during the Spring and during the busiest reporting period in October; around 10 hours a week)
*Please do not submit candidates over the max bill rate listed on the req.
Note: Candidate who do well during the interview phase will be required to take a basic skills test as part of the qualification process.
Key Responsibilities & Duties:
*Perform reconciliations of escheatment/trust accounts;
*Review, analyze and coordinate refund requests and supporting documentation;
*Prepare/support timely annual state/regulatory filings, in compliance with state unclaimed property laws;
*Review and analyze Unclaimed Property submissions, including all supporting documentation;
*Build and maintain strong relationships with internal and external customers;
*Contribute to a positive team attitude;
*Research and document issues as assigned; and,
*Other responsibilities as required or assigned.
Minimum Qualifications:
*At least 3 or more years of Account Reconciliation experience;
*General Accounting Knowledge;
*Strong work ethic, highly motivated and ability to work on multiple priorities;
*Excellent writing, communication, and research skills;
*Ability to master new tasks quickly;
*Strong project management skills;
*Strong working knowledge of Excel, Word and PowerPoint; and,
*Ability to work extended hours during limited busy seasons.
Education:
*Bachelors Degree in a Business, Accounting or Finance field from an accredited four-year university or an equivalent combination of education and experience as required for specific job level.
