Position:  Resident Engineer
Location:  Indianapolis, IN 46201
Hourly Rate: $66.66/hr.
Term: 12 months

Day-to-Day Responsibilities
 
 
  • Work with the customer operations team to ensure the fundamentals of the Network
    Surveillance and Fault Management are in place to effectively manage the new and
    existing technology elements.
  • Create basic work instruction documents pertaining to the operations of the new and
    existing technology.
  • Attend all debrief sessions to assess progress against targets set during the initiation
    phase and evaluate the need for additional support.
  • Conduct knowledge transfer during the troubleshooting of an identified network issue
    encountered during the day-to-day operations of the network.
    Document knowledge transfer sessions to:
    • Support shifts and team requirements.
    • Recording of all electronic sessions for reuse/ future needs.
    • Establish alarm handling and troubleshooting processes.
    • Ensure topics identified during the Initiation phase have been addressed.
    • Provide IPSC support personnel with easy-to-find solutions and self-search.
    • Options to perform required operations activities in a more productive and
      continuously improving manner.
  • Service Provisioning Support
    • RAN, Core, and Backhaul parameters changes and configuration.
    • Services configuration changes.
  • Network Operations Support including:
    • Acceptance testing support prior to the production launch of new network elements.
    • Production Network Element-related configuration changes and updates.
    • Maintain network health and performance.
    • Network routing setup.
    • Network infrastructure configuration.
    • Monitoring and surveillance activities.
    • Event detection and isolation.
    • Fault resolution and escalations.
    • Thorough coverage of alarms including.
    • Alarm prevention.
    • List of alarms with description.
    • Severity of alarms.
    • Handling alarms remotely.
    • Clearing alarms.
  • Thorough coverage of 7705 routers including:
    • Router configuration.
    • Ports
    • Remote provisioning
      Overall functionality
      Incident management
      Problem management
    • Change management
    • Routine diagnostics and corrective action.
  • Operational Runbook updates.
  • Methods of procedures documentation (MoPs)Fulfill the Service Configuration
    and activation of the cording to plan for Service Provisioning.
  • Operational monitoring support and usage for the company’s tools and applications.
  • Operational service management process updates.
  • Operational Knowledge Management Organization.
  • Operational measurement and KPI updates.
  • Move, Add, Change, and Delete (MACD) operational documentation and processes.
  • Provide bi-weekly status reports to include:
    • Summary
    • Progress on the current week.
    • Issues and risks
    • Deliverable status and anticipated progress for the next 2 weeks.
  • Attend Bi-Monthly Check Point Meeting
