RESPONSIBILITIES
As the Network Engineer, you will be responsible for network design, standard maintenance, troubleshooting, addressing new requests, deployment of standardized systems & configurations. In addition, the candidate must demonstrate excellent communication skills working with other Infrastructure Services teams and the business, which includes the skill to present technical solutions to non-technical management. Additional tasks include the following:
- Oversee the implementation of complex networks and assume the technical lead for multiple concurrent network projects.
- Demonstrate specialized network design and data center expertise.
- Provide strategic and tactical direction for advanced network connectivity
- Serve as an escalation point and provide expert technical expertise and diagnosis in resolving complex network problems
- Extensive experience and deep knowledge of LAN, Wireless, and SD-WAN networks
- Extensive experience and deep understanding of data center networking in a virtualized environment using Cisco Nexus, Cisco UCS, and VMWare
- Lead, train, and mentor other Network Engineers
- Ensure network stability and performance through operational excellence and proactive maintenance
- Troubleshoot network problems; schedule upgrades; perform network analysis, root cause analysis, and optimization
- Ensure uptime and monitoring of all corporate network infrastructure and circuits
- Manage network upgrades, expansions, and new implementation projects
- Respond to tickets promptly and resolve the issue
- Deploy the standardized systems and configurations as the business requirements evolve
- Collaborate on and document standard operating procedures for network support
- Participate in on-call rotation with other operations team members
It's is preferred that Network Engineers for this role, have experience working with the following products:
- Network management and monitoring tools (i.e., Riverbed)
- Cisco Nexus and Catalyst switches
- Cisco ISR and ASR routers
- Cisco Wireless LAN Controllers and Wireless Access Points
- Cisco Identity Services Engine (ISE)
- Cradlepoint LTE Routers
- Routing – BGP, OSPF, HSRP
- Switching – VLANs, rapid-PVST+, VPC
- QoS and CoS
- IPSec, DMVPN, SD-WAN, and SD-Access technologies
- DNS, DHCP, and IPAM
- Strong knowledge of packet capture and traffic analysis
- Bachelor’s degree in IT-related field or at least ten (10) years of technical knowledge and experience of the products and technologies listed above
- One or more industry-leading certifications preferred such as Cisco CCNP R/S or Enterprise
- Experience working in the oil and gas industry is preferred but not required
- Effectively work in a team environment and strong interpersonal skills
