Key Account Manager - Houston, TX

Immediate need for an experience Account Manager to acquire a book of business from a well established Oil & Gas technology firm.  Our goal is to hire a Farmer to maintain solid relationships with the company's key clients in the mid-stream market. The Key Account Manager's responsibilities include maintaining and growing the company's revenue by ensuring that key clients are satisfied with the product and services we provide, identifying new business opportunities for key clients (land and expand), and attending meetings, conferences, and training workshops as needed. The key account manager must build and maintain a strong relationship with the client. They will be the lead point of contact for all key client matters, anticipate the client’s needs, work within the company to ensure deadlines for the client are met, and help the client succeed. The key account manager will also bring in new business from existing clients or contacts and will develop new relationships with prospective clients.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Developing a trusting relationship with a portfolio of major clients to ensure they do not turn to competition or take solution in house

  • Research key customer wants and needs and how that translates to a solution. Expand the relationships with by continuously proposing solutions that meet their objectives

  • Ensure the correct products and services are delivered to customers in a timely manner

  • Serve as the link of communication between key customers and internal teams

  • Resolve any issues and problems faced by customers and deal with complaints to maintain trust

  • Play an integral part in generating new sales that will turn into long-lasting relationships

  • Work with Customer Success, and Product Management to ensure the highest quality of software is being produced and client needs met

  • Planning and presenting key account metrics reports on progress, goals, and quarterly initiatives to share with team members, stakeholders, and possible use in future case studies

Requirements and Qualifications

  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills with aptitude in building relationships with professionals of all organizational levels.

  • Detailed understanding of the midstream O&G logistics process of tickets, schedules, nominations, and inventory movements.

  • Software sales and/or SaaS experience preferred (not required)

  • Experience with systems that moves/tracks/audits O&G product through a pipeline.

  • Detailed understanding of the US midstream O&G pipeline market and the carriers and shippers in the ecosystem.

  • Midstream/Downstream O&G pipeline/terminal experience

  • Ability to multitask, prioritize, and manage time efficiently

  • Experience gathering, reporting and communicating customer feedback on service, technology and product delivery.

  • Ability to analyze data and statistics and translate results into better solutions.

  • Bachelor’s degree in marketing, business administration, sales, or relevant field; Master’s degree preferred

  • Three years’ previous work experience in key account management, or relevant experience.

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills; must be a listener, a presenter, and a people-person

  • Experience with CRM software and the Microsoft Office Suite, with emphasis on superior Excel skills.

  • Strong negotiation skills.

  • Ability to multitask and manage a portfolio of client accounts.

  • Proven results of delivering client solutions and meeting revenue goals.
