Position: Lead Software Engineer
Location: CHARLOTTE, North Carolina, 28202-6000
Term: 12 months
Day-to-Day Responsibilities:
- Lead complex technology initiatives including those that are companywide with broad impact.
- Act as a key participant in developing standards and companywide best practices for engineering complex and large scale technology solutions for technology engineering disciplines.
- Design, code, test, debug, and document for projects and programs.
- Review and analyze complex, large-scale technology solutions for tactical and strategic business objectives, enterprise technological environment, and technical challenges that require in-depth evaluation of multiple factors, including intangibles or unprecedented technical factors.
- Make decisions in developing standard and companywide best practices for engineering and technology solutions requiring understanding of industry best practices and new technologies, influencing and leading technology team to meet deliverables and drive new initiatives.
- Collaborate and consult with key technical experts, senior technology team, and external industry groups to resolve complex technical issues and achieve goals.
- Lead projects, teams, or serve as a peer mentor.
Is this a good fit? (Requirements):
- 8+ years of experience in full stack application development using Java, React JS/AngularJS and use of SQL and NoSQL databases.
- Hands on experience in functional, distributed application programming.
- Experience in Cloud Platform(s) and Microservices.
- Strong Core Java 11+/Java EE hands-on skills.
- Experience in working with Java EE container services for applications.
- Proficient with software development lifecycle (SDLC) methodologies like Agile, Test- driven development.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills..
- Familiar with agile development methodologies.
- Skilled with the use of HTML, JavaScript, Angular, React and Java in conjunction with databases.
- Knowledge of Web Services, REST API, and Java Script.
- Knowledge of streaming systems such as Kafka/Solace streaming is a plus.
- Required Skills:
- Java
- MongoDB is a key skill
- React or Angular JS. React is slightly preferred
- Worked within an Agile environment
- Automated CI/CD pipeline
- Working with minimal direction and be proactive
- This is a heads down Developer
- Preferred Industry/Company Experience:
- Financial services is a nice to have but not required.
- Soft Skills:
- Someone who can independently work in the Scrum team.
- Collaborative and strong comm skills.
- 5+ years of Software Engineering experience, or equivalent demonstrated through one or a combination of the following: work experience, training, military experience, or education.
