ELK Stack Engineer

Grow your career with an innovative global bank in Irving, TX as an ELK Stack Application Systems Engineer. Long-term contract with excellent growth potential. Will be required to be onsite 2-3 days per week. Will involve on-call rotation shift every 3 weeks: Monday – Sunday (8AM-8PM).
 
Responsibilities:
  • Work with the Elastic (ELK) as the application leveraging an Application Infrastructure Monitoring platform.
  • Create/customize visualization Kibana dashboards/Active Directory roles.
  • Customize/install monitoring known as "Watches".
  • Work within the Ansible tool for setting up automation capabilities.
  • Work within the Sensu GO agent and its deployment.
  • Provide root cause analysis on escalated issues that are reported via automation or by the client.
  • Provide technical/strategic suggestions.
  • Daily review on health and status on the platform.
  • Ensure ongoing compliance is being followed on requirements when conducting any production changes to the infrastructure.
  • Responsible for application and overall operating system and escalated to the appropriate teams.
  • Conduct research on opportunities to be pro-active on areas for efficiencies.
  • Appropriately assess issues determining where does the source of issue resides and drive the investigation.
  • Conduct handover process when turning over on-call responsibilities.
Qualifications:
  • 5+ years of ELK stack engineering experience.
  • Strong UNIX scripting experience (Perl, Python, Shell).
  • Basic understanding on Linux/Cloud Virtual Machines.
  • Experience with Ansible.
  • Experience with Sensu/Sensu GO Agents & Dashboards.
  • Experience using JIRA and ServiceNow for ticketing.
  • Prefer experience with Grafana Dashboards.
  • Excellent ability to multi-task with good time management.
  • Very good analytic and diagnostic skills.
  • Strong MS Office: Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
  • Ability to work with virtual/in-person teams, and work under pressure to meet deadlines.
  • Team-oriented.
  • Effective written and verbal communication skills.
