Position: Workplace Strategy & Design Intern
Location: Purchase, NY 10577
Term: 6 Months
Schedule: Monday-Friday 8-5
Day-to-Day Responsibilities:
  • Responsible for the specification, installation, repair, movement, placement, preservation and inventory of furniture and fixtures for Purchase as it relates to existing furniture, new furniture, moves and projects.
  • Provide assistance with space planning designs for company’s sites.
  • Support in the preparation and selection of materials, finishes and furniture on projects.
  • With direction, create 3D renderings to ensure the best visuals for the business.
  • Maintain and update design library. This includes meeting with vendors for the latest updates and research on furniture, textiles and carpet.
  • Aid in the development of Environmental Graphic Design (EGD) presentations by obtaining images from brand central (image branding site).
  • Oversee movement of existing furniture for Purchase.
  • Maintain the furniture inventory and on-site storage on a continuing basis.
  • Oversee furniture deliveries for Purchase and other locations as required.
  • Physical inspection of materials and furnishings specified for jobs to ensure they are received in satisfactory condition and installed correctly.
  • Will not have any direct reports; however, the role can be responsible for supervising several in house and outside contractors or vendors. These can include porters, movers, wood workers, furniture installers, etc.
  • Perform all other duties as assigned.
Is this a good fit? (Requirements):
  • Currently pursuing a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Interior Design.
  • Experience in AutoCAD, Revit, InDesign and Photoshop.
  • Knowledge and interest in sustainable design is a plus
  • On-site work will be expected several days a week.
  • Must be able to work under the pressures of coordinating move schedules and repairs, safely with minimum interruption to normal business activities.
  • Must be flexible to work outside business hours when needed.
  • Good communication skills.
  • Ability to multitask on several projects at once.
