 This Dallas-based industry leader has an immediate full-time opening for a VP of Data Management.  The current work environment is a hybrid where employees work from the office a few days a week and work remotely a few days a week.  The IT department is piloting a fully remote working model.  If that goes well, they anticipate that the IT will continue working remotely in the future.  The expectation would only be for employees to come into the office for meetings on an ad hoc basis.  Professional Dress work environment but due to COVID the dress code is business casual for now.  Will be responsible for establishing and leading the Enterprise Data Management Team for reporting and analytics. Will partner with business stakeholders to provide methods and/or technologies for the integration and dissemination of content. Will be responsible for defining and executing the company’s data management strategy, which focus on Data Warehouse/Data Lake, Master Data Management, Database and Application Administration.

Responsibilities:

•    Design effective system architecture with a focus in usability and scalability
•    Govern and Administer the Enterprise BI Platform in the areas of: user and content security management, system performance and integrity (service level), release/patch deployment release management and versioning
•    Define, design and architect our data warehouse for data ingestion and data delivery. Understand a broad range of data warehouse design approaches.
•    Able to lead projects and mitigate risks. Design, develop, test, deploy and implement data warehouse software, policies and procedures. Build scalable, reusable and maintainable solutions.
•    Develop integration processes with different external platforms to extract data efficiently and accurately.
•    Design effective system architecture with a focus in usability and scalability
•    Establish solid controls around Data Quality and Governance at all levels of the reporting hierarchy - from analytics detail up through Executive Dashboards and KPI's 
•    Align business goals with current BI industry solutions to develop comprehensive strategies and next generation roadmaps; gain endorsement from both technical and business management communities 
•    Develop and manage an effective training and BI awareness program for IT, business leaders, analysts, and all content users 
•    Partner with senior business leaders to drive an integrated Data Management strategy and shape opinions regarding BI solutions.
•    Responsible for adoption and change management of the current and new BI & analytics efforts within the company.
•    Develop the analytical skills of the team, and enable them to generate actionable insights that drive business results.
•    Ultimate responsibility for functional design of BI solutions, including user interface and reporting development. 
•    Hands-on involvement in all aspects of data management. 

Requirements:


•    Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, MIS or equivalent experience. 
•    Business degree or equivalent experience with strong proficiency in technology applications.•    Strong quantitative skills and demonstrated analytical and problem solving ability
•    High attention to detail and accountability in analytical assessments
•    Minimum of 10 – 15 years of experience in designing and implementing Enterprise Data Warehousing and BI platforms
•    Experience in managing DBA teams ( Oracle / SQL Server  and Various Cloud Dbs)  
•    10+ years of relevant experience in strategy, business intelligence, and/or analytics
•    7+ years of experience as a lead analyst, architect, and administrator of an Enterprise BI reporting and/or analytics platform with systems such as Hyperion, Oracle BI, Microsoft BI/Power BI, Qlik or Tableau that utilize an Enterprise Data Warehouse as the primary source
•    Thorough understanding and experience working with large relational databases (MS SQL Server and Oracle) 
•    Certification in relevant database and business intelligence and ETL technologies helpful. 
•    Must have demonstrated experience with ERP systems such as Oracle Financials (EBusiness Suite)
•    Must have experience with ETL tools
•    Thorough understanding and experience working with large relational databases (MS SQL Server and Oracle) 
•    Excellent interpersonal skills, including ability to communicate clearly and concisely both orally and in writing with all levels of management 
•    Proficiency in Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint (Microsoft Office Suite)
•    Intermediate/Advanced Excel knowledge, including ability to summarize data via formulas, lookups, Pivot Tables, conditional formatting, etc.
•    Oracle Financials and Hyperion Essbase experience preferred
