Job Title:   Utility Permit Coordinator
Job Location: Nashville and Knoxville, TN
Term: Six months

Job Description:   
  • The Permit Coordinator will be responsible for
  • executing the permit process for permits created by engineering.
  • This will include tracking, follow-up, escalating as necessary and working with the permitting authority to shepherd the permit from submittal to closing.
  • The Permit Coordinator must organize each municipality requirement to ensure each project is compliant.
  • Permits are for telephony/fiber placement
Daily Responsibilities
  • Work with Engineering teams that create permits.
  • Track, follow-up, escalate with the permitting authority to shepherd the permit from submittal to closing utilizing internal and external database systems.
  • Ensure compliance for each project with Construction team.
  • Perform other duties as required and/or assigned.
Required Experience:
  • 3 + years’ experience coordinating, processing, and acquiring required permits from approving agencies for Telecommunications infrastructure projects.
  • Ability to read and interpret construction drawings, specs and related documents.
  • Working knowledge of telecommunications engineering practices, designs, and standards pertaining to infrastructure projects.
  • Working knowledge of permit approving agencies policies and procedures for the permit approval process for Telecom utility projects.
  • Ability to utilize external database systems to research and obtain required permit data and submit permit applications to approving agencies.
  • Experience using software applications such as Word, Excel and Microsoft Outlook.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with project managers, engineers and permit approving agency officials to discuss or resolve permit related problems.
  • Experience working within a project team and collaborating with project team members.
Preferred Experience:
  • Prior work associated with the cable, wireless, cellular, or other utility infrastructure industries.
  • Education: BS preferred
