We are looking for a Tier II Technical Support Specialist for our client, a top employer in the area that will be responding to higher level help desk calls to support end users is also an important function of the job.

Details: 6 month contract- likely extension
Location: Remote to start, but some onsite work rotations are required.  Covid-19 precautions in place.
Key Skills:
Cloud Migration experience- Office 365
Conference Room system support

Breakfix experience- Laptop and Desktop

Typical Tasks

Troubleshoots and supports Tier 2 calls on a daily basis and handles overflow Tier 1 calls;

Administers MS Exchange mailbox and Outlook support; administers Sharepoint and Box;

Serves as network administrator for the VoIP system; supports all aspects of the phone system;

Manages call center servers;

Maintains voice mail system;

Deploys desktops and laptops for end users and manages and maintains software applications;

Installs, configures and maintains wide area networks and other networks for sites not served by the clients' fiber network;

Administers active directory and group policy;

Manages imaging; builds and deploys end-user desktop systems; manages asset and software licensing;

Handles backup and recovery management, operation and maintenance of SAN storage solutions;

Documents processes for end users and technical training;

Researches and stays abreast of current software and hardware purchases of servers, workstations, software, storage, networking, licensing, mobile devices, printers and virtualization;

Directs and engineers cablecasts of town meetings and events;

Develops and maintains current programming log and schedule;

Recommends, designs and installs AV equipment and systems; recommends technology budget;

Trains staff in the use of relevant technology;

Performs other job-related tasks as required.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

Thorough knowledge of technology infrastructure maintenance and support such as user account management, data backup and recovery, and enterprise level equipment monitoring; Ability to troubleshoot hardware and software problems; ability to train others in use of hardware and software; ability to manage several projects at the same time, ability to diagnose complex problems independently, arrive at a solution, and implement solution; ability to establish working relationships with others in a team environment; must have excellent communication skills.

Minimum and Preferred Qualifications

Requires any combination of education and experience equivalent to graduation from a four-year college or university with a degree in computer science or closely related field and a minimum five years of experience in:

  • Active Directory Domain
  • Group Policy Administration
  • Server hardware, software and networking using Windows Servers, Linux and Mobile platforms.
  • Data Center Technologies
  • Hypervisor Virtualization
  • Storage Solutions
  • Enterprise Network and Network Technologies


1-2 years of experience in implementing Cloud Solutions
Certifications in VMWare, Storage, Cisco, Microsoft and/or Information Technology Infrastructure Library (ITIL)

Requires a valid driver's license with an acceptable driving record.
