Our client is a multibillion-dollar company that provides end-to-end managed services, technology and consulting to enable the digital workplace for small to enterprise businesses. Position: Telecom Network Engineer
Location: Miami, Florida 33134
Hourly Rate: $39.8/hr.
Term: 11 Months Contract

Day-to-Day Responsibilities:
  • Performs a variety of Telecommunications Engineering tasks which are broad in nature and concerned with the design and implementation of integrated systems for data transmission in both digital and analog environments.
  • Projects will include fiber optic, microwave point to point, telecom inside plant planning and installation in remote locations in aid to network installations included but not limited to Solar and Wind power plant environment.
  • Position will be collocated with Infrastructure Technology Services personnel in support of planning for and deployment of telecom and/or data network projects.
  • Key responsibility will be to ensure proper system configuration of local PBX, Soft Switch Applications, and change control and represent design engineering in the field.

Is it a good fit? (Requirements):
  • Engineering Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent with applicable professional experience.
  • Ten plus (10 +) years of direct experience with working with TELCO’s and Large Carrier Operations, Billing and Designs in OSP, reviewing customer billing, and making recommendations for reducing costs on existing services.
  • Be familiar with IEEE regulations and safety measures. fiber systems, or microwave radio systems or telecommunications transmission equipment. Understand IP Protocol from routers and switches, along with High Voltage Protection equipment including Ground Potential Rise (GPR) surveys.
  • Experience with Cisco VOIP and legacy telephone/data systems is considered a plus.
  • Knowledge/experience in telecommunications theory and systems including hardware, software protocols.
  • Understanding of multiplexing and cross connect systems technology and practices. Experience in planning and implementation of telecom transport systems. In addition, experience and understanding in at least two of the areas below:
  • Understanding of fiber optic transmission implementations in a utility environment. Understanding of Telecom outside plant design considerations.
  • Path design and installation of digital microwave systems.
  • Experience with electrical support system design to support data facilities including grounding and lightning protection
