Job Description:

Our client, a regional wireline carrier is seeking a Land Acquisition specialist to negotiate land lease agreements for telecom equipment to be located in residential and commercial land space.

The Land Acquisition Specialist is responsible for performing all aspects of the Land Acquisition process from site identification and qualification through the completion NTP for multiple sites.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Coordinate to ensure timely and accurate completion of required tasks, while reporting progress to the Customer
  • Completion of site candidate identification packages, A&E site design walks and other site/field visits with Engineering, Zoning, Construction Project Management and A&E Departments as required
  • Negotiation of Lease, Amendment, License, Right-of-Way and/or Easement Agreements with property owners
  • Completion of leasing packages and other documentation required by the client
  • Researching and obtaining information regarding all applicable planning, zoning codes, and regulations affecting the development of a site while documenting the requirements for the client
  • Maintaining complete documentation related to all planning, communications, and actions on sites, including updating information in the internal database
  • Preparing and completion of all necessary zoning applications and supporting documentation including written site description, justifications, plans and sketches, maps, and photo simulations
  • Organizing and conducting presentations for neighborhood meetings or public hearings as required by local jurisdictions or as requested by respective property owner(s)
  • Daily interaction with the Engineering and Construction personnel to ensure compliance with all client, landlord, jurisdictional, governmental and industry standards
  • All other duties as required
  • Ability to work remote



  • 5+ years telecom industry experience
  • 5+ years land acquisition experience
  • 2+ years zoning experience
  • Strong background in the negotiation of leases within the telecommunications industry
  • Demonstrated leadership and understanding of land acquisition process and real estate and zoning laws

Technical Skills:

  • Ability to read blueprints
  • Must be able to comprehend legal documents such as, but not limited to, legal descriptions, surveys, ground leases, easements, deeds, land purchase contracts, mortgages, title policies and CAD drawings
  • Ability to provide quality audits for project and site-specific documentation
  • Advanced proficiency in MS Office including Excel and PowerPoint
