Our client, a leading software company headquartered in Raleigh, NC is in search of a Technical Writer to join their team.  If you have experience creating technical documentation from scratch and use Github on a regular basis, this job is for you!

Duration: 6 months
Location: 100% remote but must live and work in the Eastern US time zone.

In this role, you will join a team responsible for the project documentation that accompany the client product releases. You'll work closely with developers, engineers, product managers, and other subject matter experts to create and maintain content that helps the communities users successfully use the project.

Job Summary and Responsibilities

  • Work closely with developers, engineers, and product managers and other stakeholders to create and maintain high quality documentation
  • Effectively manage documentation projects and deliver user-focused documentation
  • Engage and collaborate with user feedback programs to address content gaps, respond to direct user feedback, and promote continuous improvement of the documentation experience
  • Keep up-to-date on changes to our offerings, customer use cases, and support issues

Master the use of our internal documentation toolchain, including the publishing platform and issue tracking tools

Primary Job Requirements

  • 2+ years of enterprise-level technical writing and/or information architecture experience or equivalent
  • Skilled with GitHub.
  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to collaborate in a globally-distributed team environment, proactively engage subject matter experts, and follow through on commitments by directly interacting with stakeholders.
  • Experience with agile and comfort with rapid iteration and fast delivery.
  • Ability to read, write, and compile technical documents, including user stories based on user personas, feature descriptions, customer use cases, using industry best practices.
  • Willingness to learn by being hands on with open source projects.
  • Familiarity with cloud native application development concepts is a plus.
  • Experience working on community-sourced projects is a plus
