Our client, a leading software development company headquartered in Raleigh, NC is in search of a Technical Writer to join their growing SRE (Site Reliability Engineering) team.  The ideal candidate will have experience creating clear and concise documentation for Software Engineers using a variety of Markup Languages and other generally used publishing tools within Google Docs.

Job Summary

Our clients' Site Reliability Engineering (SRE) Services team is looking for a Senior Technical Writer to join us. In this role, you will promote more efficient SRE processes through internal tool and process documentation. You’ll collaborate with subject matter experts, technical support staff, support managers and engineering managers by writing a framework for standard operating procedures, user guides, and premium content that accompany our internal tooling solutions, which will be available to internal teams and customers.

As a Senior Technical Writer, you will also work on effective scoping, quality testing, and delivery of writing projects, maintain a customer focus by participating in existing programs, and grow your technical expertise. You will also mentor colleagues in best practices for technical writing.

Primary Job Responsibilities

  • Work closely with content strategists, engineering and SRE project teams, and other partners to produce and maintain quality documentation for internal tools
  • Engage with customer and internal feedback to address content gaps, act on direct customer feedback, and promote continuous improvement on the customer documentation experience
  • Keep up-to-date on solutions changes, customer use cases, and support issues by communicating with other internal teams like Customer Experience and Engagement (CEE)
  • Embrace our internal documentation toolchain, including the publishing platform and issue tracking tools
  • Effectively lead documentation projects and deliver customer-focused documentation
  • Drive a culture of effective documentation into the team and enable the team with documentation strategies

 

Required Skills

  • Bachelor's or master’s degree in IT, Computer Science, or arts or language field or equivalent professional experience
  • Excellent verbal and written English communication skills
  • Ability to read, write, and compile technical documents, including feature descriptions, customer use cases, and release notes
  • Demonstrated ability to establish and maintain communication with subject matter experts and other project team members
