Long-term contract opportunity in Simpsonville, SC for a Technical Writer.
 
Day-to-Day Responsibilities:
  • Obtain data and information from the review of documentation, drawings, schematics and reports, consultation with technical staff members and study of published material.
  • Ensure adherence to specifications.
  • Analyze requirements, may develop source material, consults engineering and technical staff and work with editors, illustrators and the like in preparing a draft.
  • Normally receive detailed instructions on all work.
  • Work is closely supervised.
  • Build stable working relationships internally.
  • Contacts are primarily with immediate supervisor, and other personnel in group or department. Solves routine problems of limited scope and complexity.
  • Follow established policies & procedures in analyzing situations or data from which answers can be readily obtained.
  • Contributions are usually limited to task-related activities. Errors do not typically have a major effect on the organization.
 
Qualifications:
  • Associates degree required or relevant experience. Acceptable fields are Engineering, Journalism, Communications, or English.
  • 2+ years of previous work experience in engineering, manufacturing.
 
Required
  • Prior experience working in a technical writing position.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Proficient working with MS Office
 
Preferred
  • Proven experience working in a technical writing position. 3+ years of experience in manufacturing setting.
  • Able to translate complex technical information into clear & simple language.
  • Able to write in explanatory and procedural styles for multiple audiences.
