Contract to hire opportunity in Carrolton, TX. We are seeking a motivated Sr. Engineer with system administration experience, to be part of the Critical Infrastructure Integration lab team responsible for supporting the lab environments across the Annapolis, Carrollton, and Pittsburg offices. The Engineer will design, review, interpret, and install Hardware and Software system infrastructures. Our team consists of integration engineers, technicians, logistical analysts, and drafters. The Engineer will work with these teammates to complete the variety of tasks within the labs. The main responsibility of the Lab IT Director is to ensure the labs are available for use, meets the needs of the organization, comply and enforce internal project and lab policies, and they comply with corporate policies.

Job Responsibilities

  • Expert level understanding and implementation of VMware, Cyber tools, SANs, and Networking switches.
  • Developing the Labs IT vision and translating it into actionable goals
  • Directing the implementation of new software and hardware
  • Formulating and implementing business continuity and disaster recovery plans
  • Coordinating IT activities to ensure the availability of network services and data
  • Ensure smooth delivery and operation of IT services by monitoring systems performance
  • Identifying future challenges in the IT Lab landscape and developing mitigation strategies
  • Identifying security vulnerabilities and eliminating them with strategic solutions
  • Identifying and recommending new technology solutions
  • Provide direction, guidance, and training to Lab users and Lab Admins
  • Create processes and standards for selection, implementation, and support of systems
  • Consult senior-level lab stakeholders across the organization to identify business and technology needs and to optimize the use of the lab


Basic Qualifications
Education:

  • Bachelor's degree in a Science, Technology, Engineering or Math (STEM) discipline and 5 years of relevant experience in overseeing large information systems OR
  • Advance degree and 3 years of relevant experience
or In absence of a degree, 10 years of relevant experience is required
  • 5+ years experience in building Virtual Systems
  • 5+ years experience in networking
  • 5+ years experience using Cyber best practices
  • 5+ years experience in planning hardware and software upgrades
  •  Experience in building Systems from the ground up
