This international industry leader has an immediate full-time opening in Talladega, AL for a Project Engineering Manager.  In addition to a generous salary, relocation assistance is available.  The ideal candidate will have an EE or Systems Engineering Degree along with at least 10 years of experience.  Requires 5+ years of project engineering management or lead systems engineering experience.  Reverse engineering and product obsolescence background for military/avionics is desired.

The Project Engineering Manager develops requirements, researches, plans, develops, analyzes and tests a variety of electronic equipment and systems, including displays, sensors, processors, interface units and other electronic devices such as; circuitry components; analog and digital computers; and control and test equipment. 
•    Lead a team to provide innovative technical solutions to fit within budget and schedule constraints
•    Responsible for Cost/Technical/Schedule performance of engineering activities
•    Generate bids and BOEs IAW company policies, using historical data wherever possible
•    Support businesses in the development of Bids and Proposals IAW defined scope and objectives
•    Mentor junior and senior engineers
•    Manage Engineering Projects, controlling cost, schedule, and technical risk
•    Delegates tasks as appropriate
•    Grow technical and leadership skills in individual contributors
•    Be fully knowledgeable of the AOP budget for the site for the current fiscal year and implement work changes in reaction to the monthly performance
•    Perform requirements management using industry tools such as DOORS or organic tools
•    Solicits and provides feedback in a timely manner to help improve performance 
•    Makes healthy use of conflict and disagreement to promote learning and expansion of team perspective to help develop innovative solutions to problems
•    Continually seek ways to improve efficiency and performance
•    Support hiring personnel that have the required skill-sets and characteristics that exemplify company values
•    Coordinate with and support other functional disciplines to help ensure overall program success
•    Report status on key events, issues and activities to upper management as required
•    Create procedures for carrying out various systems engineering tasks
•    Conceptualize, analyze, design, and oversee semi-complex systems level architecture design
•    Component obsolescence analysis 
•    Develop Acceptance Test Procedures (ATP), and run validation testing
•    Generate development capability roadmaps providing insight into future capabilities and needs
•    Support company level process initiatives and audits
•    Conduct and document formal and informal design and peer reviews at key project junctures and milestones
•    Recommend technology growth opportunities in support of current business and pursuits.

Bachelor's degree in Engineering (Systems Engineering preferred) or an equivalent discipline.

Knowledge, Skills, Abilities Required (Unique and Measurable):
•    Demonstrated leadership skills 
•    10+ years relevant product capability development experience (Military products preferred)
•    Strong written and verbal communication skills
•    Proficiency with Technical writing and development of Statements of Work (SOW)
•    Component obsolescence analysis is a plus
•    Computer Aided Design (CAD) experience is a plus
•    Proficient in MS Office include MS Projects
•    Working knowledge of electrical analysis packages
•    Ability to obtain a DOD Security Clearance is a plus
