Permanent opportunity for a Sr. Security Administrator in Houston, TX (Uptown)  for a growing national firm. The Senior Security Administrator will use his/her expertise to identify threats and work to create steps to defend against them, perform vulnerability and penetration tests across all network segments, monitor network traffic for suspicious behavior, configure security systems such as antivirus, and IDS/IPS DLP be able to run network scans and recommend mitigations. As a senior member of the group, the role will require providing guidance and additional training to the junior staff. 

Job Responsibilities and Duties:
• Broad knowledge of firewalls, IDS, AV software, data encryption, and other industry-standard security techniques and practices.
• In-depth technical knowledge of operating systems, including Windows 10 and Linux.
• Working technical knowledge of IT security systems software, protocols, and standards.
• Strong knowledge of TCP/IP and network administration protocols.
• Hands-on experience with devices such as hubs, switches, and routers.
• Knowledge of General IT concepts: Virtualization, routing, switching, OSI Model
• Knowledge of applicable practices and laws relating to data privacy and protection.
• Knowledge/experience with Vulnerability Management programs including application security.
• Knowledge/experience with SD WAN and Cloud Security preferred.
• Knowledge/experience performing security functions in an ICS network preferred.
• Knowledge/experience of Governance Risk and Compliance GRC operations
• Familiar with current Privacy issues and requirements.

Minimum Qualifications:
• Bachelor’s degree required, with 6 years’ relevant security experience.
• Drive for results, meticulous attention to detail an exceptional sense of quality personally accountability
• Knowledge and experience in performing forensics tasks preferred.
• Intuition and keen instincts enabling pre-emption of attacks.
• High level of analytical and problem-solving abilities; highly attentive to detail.
• Ability to conduct research into security issues and products as required.
• Strong interpersonal and oral communication skills.
• Ability to translate technical jargon into layman’s terms
• Highly self-motivated and directed.
• Strong organizational skills.
• Ability to think creatively while effectively prioritizing and executing tasks in a high-pressure environment.
• Able to work in a team-oriented, collaborative environment.
