The Sr. Network Engineer is responsible for the design, configuration and delivery of client driven network projects. The successful candidate will need to demonstrate an advanced level of expertise in network routing, switching, firewall, and load balancing technologies as they apply to a service provider network. They will work directly with customer and translate complex requests into common language.  They will act as a network high level escalation point for projects and issues. 

Qualifications / Requirements

  • 8+ years of advanced configuration experience on network and security equipment
  • 8+ years of experience with network security technologies and best practices
  • 2-4 years of experience with network security technologies, advanced configuration and best practices in one or more of the below platforms:
    • Fortigate Firewall
    • NSX Firewall
    • Cisco ASA
  • 2-4 years of production support for
    • Cisco Nexus 3k, 7k, and 9k data center switching platforms
    • Arista Switches
    • Cisco 7600/6500 series
    • Access layer switching such as Cisco 2960, 3750, 3850, 9300, MDS
  • 8+ years configuration experience and expert level understanding of core networking technologies including:
    • BGP (service provider level configuration)
    • Routing and switching experience for configuration and troubleshooting
    • Layer 2 technologies such as Spanning Tree, STP, RSTP, Spine Leaf configurations etc.
  • 8+ years of production experience building and designing solutions on the above technologies
  • 4+ years of support and design of load balancer implementations including:
    • F5 LTM & GTM
  • Possess CCNP/CCSP certification (Minimum) or an equivalent knowledge level
  • Experience building and troubleshooting VPN tunnels
  • Experience writing design and implementation documents, Visio drawings, process documents, customer statements of work, etc.
  • Ability to work on multiple projects simultaneously, prioritize and organize effectively
  • Ability to operate in a fast moving, team-oriented, collaborative environment with tight deadlines
  • Possess advanced knowledge to be responsible to work on and/or assist with more complex implementations and/or problem resolution
  • Preferred Experience
  • Expert level knowledge in networking and security technologies (CCIE, CISSP or equivalent)
  • Experience supporting large scale data center infrastructure environments
  • Recent experience with network virtualization technologies such as virtual firewalls, virtual load balancers, MPLS VRFs, Nexus 1000V, etc.
  • Experience supporting the networking requirements for Multi-tenant environments.
  • Experience and knowledge of network monitoring/management technologies
    • TACAS, SNMP, Netflow, syslog, monitoring applications, etc.
  • Expert level knowledge of DNS
