Large Logistics company is seeking to hire a Sr. IT Project Manager (Agile/Scrum) for our Fortune 500 client that's in the Transportation / Freight / Supply Chain / 3rd Party Logistics industry. The best location for this Sr. IT Project Manager to live and work is the Fort Worth, TX area. Will work remote in this role until return-to-office plans are finalized for 2021. This is a consulting role that will last up to 2-3 years, but it’s possible that this Sr. PM is approached about converting to permanent during the project.

Must have a strong “leadership presence” from a servant leadership perspective, demonstrating both humility and a high amount of confidence when delivering solutions for the development of a new product line. Highly desired that candidates for this role have a Transportation (Freight) industry background. The kick-off meetings for this project will begin in late January 2021, so all interviewing and a hiring decision will be made by early-mid January.

RESPONSIBILITIES

As the Sr. IT PM (Agile/Scrum), you will engage in very early stages of this application build project. Will be working hand-in-hand with the Product Owner (VP on the business side) to schedule Discovery Sessions with IT Leaders and Business Leaders, demonstrating strong facilitation and collaboration skills to build requirements, determine tracks for work effort, write and keep up with the backlog, and orchestrate delivery. Will serve in a very hands-on role and work closely with the Product Owner at all times, providing support. This project is very new, so there is currently not that much clarity or structure that has been established yet. Will serve as a SCRUM Master when needed, and definitely must have a very strong grasp of the Agile/Scrum process. This organization is also in the middle of large-scale Agile Adoption / Transformation efforts. In this role, you will be sensitive to current roles and responsibilities, help to demonstrate the benefits of Agile adoption.

REQUIRED SKILLS

The ideal candidate for this role must have the following:

  • Must have the ability to set-up and facilitate Discovery Sessions with IT and Business Leaders throughout the organization.
  • Must have a strong leadership presence, demonstrating servant leadership and humility in your approach, with ability to be flexible while persistent to move the project forward.
  • Must be able to collaborate and negotiate with confidence, working through challenges when gathering/building requirements, writing the backlog, and providing overall support for the Product Owner.
  • Very good Agile/Scrum knowledge and experience as you will come into a very fast-paced software / systems development environment, working with Scrum teams to help them show value by increasing velocity and output.
  • Must have the ability to promote technical excellence in the team through examples, metrics, practices.
  • Very strong knowledge in product management and understanding good vs. bad acceptance criteria, user story break-down, INVEST pattern.
  • Must have very good communication, presentation, and overall people skills (soft skills).
  • Must have the ability understand and interact with a team of software developers, technical business analysts, software quality assurance, project / program managers, product owners, IT leadership, operations managers / directors, and other leadership roles that oversee large team.

PREFERRED SKILLS

  • PMP Certification is a nice to have, but not required.
  • Highly preferred that candidates for this Sr. PM role have Transportation / Supply Chain / Freight industry experience.
  • Preferred that this Sr. PM have a good financials background, as the budget for this project may be transitioned to this role in the future.
