Position:  Cloud Developer 
Location: Des Moines, IA 50392 or Remote
Term: 12 Months Contract

Day-to-Day Responsibilities:

  • Work with guidance on software development/solutions
  • Some travel may be required, including overnight stays
  • With guidance, conduct analysis and development, elicit requirements, write correct and clean coding, automated testing, debugging, documentation, quality assurance review, implementation and maintenance
  • Work with guidance on multiple layers of the solution if needed
  • Participates in technical design of features
  • Assist our Investment Accounting team dedicated to supporting the our investing platform and our modernization efforts towards the cloud
  • Learn, grow and lead with your team as we seek to implement new technologies, build in security from the beginning, improve our coding practices, provide scale and performance capabilities, and evolve our engineering culture
  • Support legacy business applications and SaaS solutions
  • Explore cloud technology and scale cloud capabilities over time, including knowing the latest industry trends
  • Participate in code/design reviews and learning technical design
  • Develop and maintain CI/CD pipelines that test and deploy software, data, and infrastructure artifacts across managed environments
  • Collaborate with highly skilled architecture, technical engineers, and other roles on application design and architecture
  • Own continuous improvement in yourself, your team, and the solutions you build
  • May be required to provide on-call support

Is this a good fit? (Requirements):

  • 4 to 6 years work experience or equivalent experience
  • Proven experience as an IT professional
  • 3+ years related work experience Software engineering/programming expertise (we often us Python, .NET, and TypeScript) Cloud experience (we use AWS) Database operations, structures and design DevOps experience Excellent informal leadership, mentoring, technical coaching, problem solving, analytical, and decision making skills are required
  • Associate's or bachelor's degree (preference in a computer science, technology, engineering or math-related field or equivalent experience)
  • Basic knowledge of insurance and financial services products preferred. Basic planning, organizational, problem-solving, analytical and decision-making skills required
  • Proficiency with database applications, knowledge of mainframe, distributed and/or web programming language
  • Must be able to maintain a high degree of accuracy and confidentiality
  • Must have the desire to learn new technology and continuously grow
  • Ability to work on cross-functional teams and collaborate with both It and non-IT partners
  • Ability to obtain certification(s) in an IT related field is a plus

  • Mulesoft Asset management or Financial Services experience
  • Cloud
