This international network integration leader has an immediate  6+ month contract opportunity (with strong chance for extension) in Plano, TX for a Senior Network Engineer with a Wireless/Telematics Background.  Will be working remotely initially but must be available to work onsite in Plano, TX in the future.  The ideal candidate will have wireless network experience working with Mobile Network Operators (MNO's) such as AT&T, Verizon, T-Mobile, Spring, US Cellular, etc.  Should have knowledge/experience with device modems and communication protocols.

Responsibilities:

  • Architect, design, implement, verify and support complex software systems, potentially involving multiple microprocessors, microcontrollers, SoCs, FPGAs, custom ICs and wireless technologies.

  • Accept technical responsibility for the project and staff working on the project. Work closely with all stakeholders to ensure the successful delivery of the product or service.

  • Formulate and design software architectures using scientific analysis and theoretical models to predict and measure outcome and consequences of design.

This position requires 10+ years of network engineering experience including within the wireless/telematics industry.  Requires a Bachelor's Degree in a technical or engineering discipline.

Preferred Skills & Experience:

  • IP Networking & protocols (TCP/IP, UDP, IPv4, IPv6), firewalls, security (TLS, MTLS, PKI), DNS, DHCP, CG/NAT.

  • Service provider/Mobile network, 3GPP standards, 4G, 5G.

  • DCM stack both hardware (NAD,RF) & software(CAN, Eth, MQTT, HTTP, REST)

  • Understanding of wireless networks & protocols.

  • Connected car domain knowledge, Telematics.

  • Cloud computing (AWS/Azure/GCP)

  • Basic OS (AGL) & OSGI concepts

  • Technical documentation skills

  • Experience with Python/C/C++/Java and/or bash scripting

  • Ability to work independently
